About Me

I am an experienced foreign language tutor (5 years) and a nationally certified healthcare interpreter (CHI). From the age of 8 I have always had a lot of curiosity about other people and cultures. Learning a foreign language and speaking it with native people, especially in their own countries, is really thrilling. It opens up a side of ourselves that was previously unexplored and broadens our understanding of people outside our normal circle of family, friends and colleagues. As a tutor I want to ensure that students feel free to articulate their goals and challenges so we can address them quickly. My style is open, direct, empathetic and non-judgemental. I have helped many students achieve higher grades and conversational fluency. I have a BA in French and Spanish from the University of Wales in the UK with a Distinction oral proficiency in Spanish. I also have passed the French final oral (Part 1) exam at the Institute of Linguists.
