About Me

I am a graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Education. Since graduation, I have experienced many wonderful teaching and tutoring opportunities. Currently, I teach writing, grammar, British Literature, and Contemporary Literature at one of the oldest alternative high schools in the nation. I began teaching Survey of Literature and American Literature at the high school level ten years ago. I also taught British Literature and World Literature in a "No Child Left Behind" evening school program. My tutoring experiences throughout the years have been fun and interesting. In college, I was a part time tutor for our university's tutoring center, tutoring other college students and helping them with their language and writing skills. I have also participated in various after-school tutoring programs and standardized-test tutoring programs. Education is important to me, and it is important to always keep in mind the skill levels of every diverse learner I work with. After all, if students don't learn the way we teach, then we need to teach them the way they learn. I'm an extremely positive and enthusiastic person not only as an educator but as a person in general. In my spare time, I enjoy walking, cooking, throwing boomerangs, reading, and playing backgammon.
