My unique teaching philosophy is focused on making learning fun and interactive by incorporating hands-on materials where students are able to express their creativity and bring their imaginations to life. As a New York State certified Childhood Education (1-6) teacher my education lends itself well to teaching young students literacy and mathematics. As such, earning my Masters in Childhood Education has allowed me to obtain the tools to teach a range of students with varying abilities and it would be a privilege to help your student on an individual one on one basis.
As an educator I strive to promote intellectual growth and an appreciation for lifelong learning. Through the use of individual reading sessions I actively engage my students of varying abilities in guided reading and phonics instruction. Additionally, working with students to perfect the craft of writing is a rewarding experience. Working at an Independent School in Manhattan, I teach math and science which helps me solidify critical STEM concepts and initiatives in the classroom. Science and math are my passion, but the tools I have acquired in reading and writing have allowed me to be an effective instructor in all areas of the curriculum.
