I am about to graduate from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Previously I received my MD degree from Suez Canal University. Since the beginning of my US experience I have worked as a teacher, adjunct professor, and instructor in a variety of institutes teaching various subjects including anatomy, physiology, histology , biology, pathology, pathophysiology, microbiology, pharmacology, infectious diseases, and more. I also worked as a researcher at Columbia University.In my journey as a tutor I have taught all levels of students - from developmentally challenged learners all the way to my fellow graduate students. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and histology. In my experience helping struggling students preparing for all kind of tests - including standardized tests - I follow a model of starting with the exact level of the student's knowledge and understanding, then by breaking the material down to even a lower level, using visual cues, drawings, mnemonics, and real life examples that the student could relate to, we manage step by step to escalate the level of grasping, understanding and mastering the material.I am a strong proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life. I am a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Marketing Communications with Magna Cum Laude distinction; I focused on Public Relations, Entrepreneurship, and Event Planning. During my final year at FIT, I worked full-time at Viacom's BET Networks as a Corporate Communications Intern and was hired on as a Publicity Coordinator immediately following my graduation. I received three promotions in three years at the media powerhouse and as Lead Mentor with Viacom's UP Mentoring program, I guided young professionals on their own career journeys. Since leaving BET Networks, I have gone on to represent and counsel top business leaders, A-list celebrities, and a diverse range of talent and professionals in Business Communications; all while elevating others in my community through education.While I have worked with students and mentees on a broad range of subjects, I am intensely passionate about English, Literature, Business, and all forms of Writing. I became very familiar with each student's learning style and leveraged their own strengths to maximize their learning curve and encourage academic development. Informally, I have also taught my fellow peers advanced math concepts they were struggling with in intermediate-level college math. Since graduation, I traveled to Thailand to take part in an ongoing public health project and taught English to elementary school children and health care workers. Although I am well adept in a variety of subject areas, Math and English are my two strong suits. There is no singular right way to learn, and there are as many strategies as there are people in the world.
