I am currently a graduate student at the University of Dallas, working towards a Masters in Philosophy. I received my Bachelor of Arts in both Philosophy and a great books program called Integral, where we studied the history of thought in Mathematics, Science, Literature, Language, Logic, etc. While I can tutor in many fields, my favorite subjects are Math and English. On my free time, I like to read, play basketball, and hang out with friends.

I have 5 1/2 years of teaching experience. I am a substitute teacher and have had two long term substitute jobs. My background with all grades K-8 gives me expert experience with all elementary and middle school ages and curriculum. I have spent time in a resource room providing extra support to students who need it. I worked for Sylvan helping students in math, reading and writing.I have a multiple subjects teaching credential and a bachelor of science degree in business administration. This allows me to teach in any self contained classroom grades K-6.I am available to tutor in elementary and middle school math, reading, writing, arithmetic, English, summer tutoring and homework help. I love to help students that are struggling. The "ah-ha" moment when they finally understand a concept that has been eluding them is priceless! I have a Bachelor of Science in physics from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a Master of Science in materials science from the University of Washington. In addition to my education I have also taught college physics for over a year. With such a diverse background I am able to tutor in physics, all levels of mathematics (including calculus and beyond), and even materials science if you're interested in it. My personal favorite subjects are physics, calculus, and pre-calculus. My approach to tutoring is to help students re-learn what they may have missed or forgotten and to assist them in discovering patterns and methods necessary to solve problems on their own. In other words, my job is to work myself out of a job; and I am very good at it! I work in an immigration law firm where I specialize in Spanish language and conversation, client outreach in Spanish is a huge daily part of my job. I have extensive experience in the study and use of Spanish. I studied Spanish for all 4 years of my time in high school, followed by a 2 year mission trip in Mexico where I spoke Spanish daily. Since then, I have taken a full year of upper level Spanish courses in college. I have 4 years of experience teaching and tutoring Spanish. I look forward to working with you!

I am currently a behaviorist working with kids with special needs, but really miss the teaching aspect of working in a school. I have tutored kids in grades K-7th for about 10 years. I am currently a college student, and I am majoring in engineering, so I am familiar with math and science! I am a collegiate athlete, I run the 400, 200, and 100 meter on the track team. I love to learn, and I am happy to pass on some of what I've learned.

I am a graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage. I received my Associates of Science degree in Business Management with an emphasis on Accounting. I recently went back to school to receive extra credits in medical sciences and photography for personal growth. I was always at the top of my class and I was a member of the National Honor Society throughout both high school and college. Part of my responsibilities of being a member of the National Honor Society was to tutor my peers. I have experience tutoring in math, science, literature, and business courses. I also have 5 children, and each one of them has their own struggle with academics. I find that making learning fun is key in developing a natural curiosity in any subject. If a student possesses that natural curiosity, it facilitates self-growth and allows students a better chance at learning on their own and needing less and less assistance. This builds confidence and a desire to learn even more. While I am capable of tutoring a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math, Science, and Business.In my professional experiences, I have worked in finance and medical billing offices. I have utilized my extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites, most notably Excel and Word, to develop intricate and user-friendly tools that assisted in day-to-day operations. With these tools I was able to bring the margin of error within these companies from over 20% down to 5%.I believe that knowledge is power and the best gift anyone can give another person is the power to gain knowledge. My teaching strategy is to make learning fun. In order to accomplish this goal, I spend time getting to know my students and relating their studies to their interests. This always facilitates natural curiosity and makes the student eager to learn more. By opening students' minds up to learning, they develop a skill that they can utilize long after my influence in their life is over.When I am not tutoring, I am working as a photographer in my photography and graphic design business that I co-own with my boyfriend.
