About Me

I graduated from Smith College with a degree in Geology and minor in Astronomy, before going to Arizona State University to get my Masters in planetary Geology. I was a teaching assistant while at ASU, and loved seeing the students when they finally understood a concept, and I knew I would go into teaching. I have been teaching for about 20 years, both in a classroom and now for an online school, and have worked with students of all types of educational levels and backgrounds, and technology skills. I always love helping students learn HOW to think (not WHAT to think), and showing them how they CAN do science, as they do it everyday in their daily lives. I love being outdoors, gardening, and doing almost anything crafty. I also have started being interested in pioneering skills, such as knitting, crocheting, and baking anything sourdough. I always try to involve real life examples, to help students see that science is all around them and they interact with it all the time.
