I am an SDSU alumna and I am passionate about learning and teaching languages. I am a Native Spanish speaker and I am fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese. I have acquired my language skills by living, studying, and working in South America, China, and the U.S.I lived in China for a year and a half and I taught English and Spanish in a kindergarten class, a middle school, and privately. Now that I am back in the U.S, I have had the opportunity to continue to teach Spanish as well as Mandarin.I have over three years of tutoring experience (Kindergarten, Middle School, High School and adults). I am very patient and can easily adapt my teaching methods to provide my students with a fun and friendly atmosphere to meet their specific goals.

With over two years experience tutoring in creative writing, reading, history, and test prep, I am focused on improving fundamental study skills through a practical, hands-on approach. This includes imbedding real-world applications into every lesson to inspire students and spark their latent curiosity. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard in 2018 and currently live in Los Angeles, CA.

I am a graduate of Azusa Pacific University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with an emphasis on Education. During school I tutored junior high, high school, and college students in math. I was a teacher's assistant in a junior high math class as well as a high school math class. My passion is teaching students math. In the Fall I will be going to get my Master's in Education and my Teaching Credential to teach math at the junior high and high school levels. I also love sports! I played four years of collegiate soccer and I am currently playing for the San Diego Sea Lions Semi-Professional soccer team.

I completed my Bachelor of Science in Business/Hospitality Management along with a Minor in Sociology from SDSU in 2007. I completed my Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of California Irvine in June of 2013. Prior to returning to graduate school in 2011 I worked in several different capacities, first as a restaurant manager, later in sales for a non-profit organization and most recently for three years in employee benefits specializing in health insurance. My exposure to healthcare reform legislation and long-time interest in the complex interactions between government regulation and private business markets led to my decision to pursue a graduate degree in public policy. I have a wealth of experience working in groups professionally as well as in my academic career, which has taught me to be an excellent collaborator and I am able to quickly develop friendly, productive relationships. While I am experienced in a broad range of subjects, my specialties are economics, algebra, geometry, statistics and related quantitative subjects, as well as academic essay and professional business writing, government and history. I am also well versed in a range of science subjects, particularly physical and earth sciences. In my family education is extremely important. Both of my older siblings are teachers, my sister teaches high school English, my brother teaches middle school Algebra and Geometry. Like them, I genuinely enjoy helping students find new ways to understand and relate to material which they have previously found challenging. In my spare time I enjoy playing guitar, attending concerts, snowboarding, scuba diving and traveling.

Since that time I have tutored several nieces and nephews and found it very rewarding. I will be attending medical school in Fall 2019 at Creighton University. With 7 years of tutoring under my belt, 4 of which included working as a peer tutor for LMU Athletics, I have developed a strong passion for assisting others inside and out of the classroom to reach successful academic goals. I completed my undergraduate coursework at the University of California, San Diego, where I graduated cum laude with a major in Literature in English and a minor in General Biology, so whether you're an aspiring engineer struggling with poetry, or a future novelist grappling with coordinate geometry, I'm on your wavelength. In college I was a classroom volunteer tutor for the Preuss Charter School in San Diego, and I've been working for nearly two years now as a professional tutor, and have thorough experience with a range of subjects and standardized test formats. I also write pop culture articles on the side, and aspire to be a college professor of literature; consequently, I most enjoy teaching English and composition, and pride myself on being able to break down essay-writing to its most fundamental, obvious-as-peanuts basics. When I am not saving children from the abyss of school-related anxiety, I indulge in film photography, kung fu movies, and guitar.
