I am a marketing student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. In high school, I was a tutor for two years, with subjects ranging from math, english, science, and history. As your tutor, i will explain how each process or concept works, then provide examples of the process, and then at the end of each concept, I will help you work through some examples of your own.

I taught AP & IB Physics for six years in the late 90's, with exceptional success for my students on all AP and IB exams. I've also taught regular physics (as opposed to college prep). And I taught Algebra 1 through Calculus in rural Louisiana through the Teach For America program before I got licensed to teach physics. These and other teaching jobs involved quite a bit of one-on-one work with students.Even though I was known for guiding my students to good results on the AP and IB physics tests, that wasn't what mattered most to me. I wanted to share my excitement and love for math and physics. The most important results for me were seeing students get excited about physics, and start doing their own exploring. Test scores come and go, but attitude and enthusiasm are forever.

I have a Ph.D in philosophy and my teaching experience has been incredible. With my Udemy course, I have been teaching students around the globe and from diverse backgrounds. I earned my Ph.D. in philosophy with a 4.0 grade point average from the Selinus University of the Sciences and Literature, and studied logic under Dr. Paul Tomassi. My primary interests are general philosophy, philosophy of mind and the philosophy of language. I wrote my doctor's thesis in the philosophy of science quite recently. I encourage students, and hope they have a fun and energetic experience!

I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley with a degree in Social Sciences and a minor in Economics. Throughout my life, I've enjoyed mentoring fledging writers and seeing people reach their potential in anything they pursue. My passion is travel and I've been privileged to know and appreciate people from all walks of life.

Hi, I'm Nick. Currently I am a Masters of Microbiology student at the University of Minnesota. I have a BA from the College of Saint Scholastica and have been a tutor for a year now. I enjoy teaching a lot and am also doing research. My research at the U of M is focused on green fluorescent protein infection studies with large, vacuolated sulfur bacteria.

My educational philosophy is developed on the premise that all students can learn with an access to an equitable and responsive education. I firmly believe that teachers without a strong context of their students will never be as effective as they can be. True learning happens when a student's assets are utilized to build knowledge, and when they are able to form meaningful connections to information and knowledge they already possess. Having led the science department at my school for two years, I have developed a STEM-integrated curriculum that also aims to improve literacy and reading skills.After completing receiving my B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota in 2014, I was accepted into Teach for America- Twin Cities, where I have worked as a middle school science instructor for the last two years. Through a joint collaboration and enrollment into the University of Minnesota's Alternative Teaching Licensure Pathway Program, I received my M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction in 2016. I am motivated in addressing the disparities in educational equity here in the Twin Cities, particularly for students of color and students of differing socio-economic backgrounds. I work to build strong relationships with students to determine the strengths and knowledge they bring to the table.

I have endured a lot of changes in my life with and without support. I understand the meaning of having someone that can guide and help you succeed in your future accomplishments whether academical or professional. I really enjoy teaching others how to manage problems and difficulties that they have so they can tackle them straight on without any fears or second thoughts. I have a bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico. Specialized in world history, international relations, US Government and I also tutor Spanish.One of my biggest strengths when working with young students is my ability to be patient and adapt to the student and keeping a consistent pace. Also I encourage my students to be better and why they should as it motivates them to look up to their future professional careers.

I am a recent college graduate from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a B.S. ACS Biochemistry degree. While pursuing my degree I tutored a number of math and science courses. I have experience with one-on-one tutoring and also leading study groups of around five students. The courses I am most passionate about tutoring are general chemistry, organic chemistry, and math courses. I am quickly able to assess the strengths, weaknesses, and learning style of students in order to cater to their specific needs. Some students have a difficult time understanding topics from the perspective their instructor gives, but I am confident I can help those students learn the topics from a perspective they can understand. I am a very active person in my spare time. Some of my hobbies include snowboarding, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, going to the beach, and hiking.

Nothing is as rewarding as learning something new and I love being a part of that process. I currently attend the University of Minnesota as a Political Science major and am due to graduate early in 2016. After graduation, I hope to work for a non-profit organization and move abroad!
