I am presently a Professor of History at three colleges and have worked at the Junior High through High School Level for many years.I love History but I am not tied to the pursuit of trivial facts that waste a lot of time in history course. I prefer to discuss the key ideas because I believe that if a student can understand a basic concept that he or she will succeed.I have access to numerous powerpoints and videos that will help my lessons interesting. Imagine Lady Gaga singing about the French Revolution or Taylor Swift with a song about the American Revolution.My concern will only be my student's success but I also make sure to communicate with parents.

I attended DePaul University, and in December, I received a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a concentration in Literary Studies, and French. During my time at DePaul, I was a Writing Center Tutor at the University Center for Writing-based Learning. There, I worked with students from a variety of disciplines on their writing. For example, I tutored freshman who were working on rhetorical analyses as well as senior psychology majors working on personal statements for grad school. The diversity of writing I worked with fostered a sense of adaptability in me that I bring to every new tutoring session. I also tutored English Language Learners, focusing more on the technical aspects of language and honing their speaking skills. I tutor any subject under the broad spectrum of English: college writing, reading comprehension, literary analyses, speech and argumentative writing, and so forth. I also tutor French! I received my degree in French and spent a semester abroad in Paris, where I lived with a host family and soaked in the culture, like a slice of baguette bread mopping up a delicious sauce.My tutoring style is direct but not overbearing: I know how to direct students to the right answer, but I will do so through leading questions, providing examples, or referencing rules or conventions that the student has learned previously. Students possess the knowledge the obtain the right answer but sometimes have to be guided to it; that's the purpose of education and tutoring. Because education is so monumental in shaping students' futures, it's crucial that they receive the attention necessary to succeed.Because of my love of all things literary, my hobbies include reading, writing, and attending literary events such as poetry and fiction readings. I also love to dance and to play piano; anything musical interests me! I got the PhD degree in 2013, and then move to another university to continue scientific research, and later became a research professor, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in physics.My expertise of tutoring focuses on physics (high school and college level), maths (high school and college general), electrical engineering, and computer programing (most proficient in MATLAB).

My passions are writing and logical argumentation. I've seen success in both fields. For the former, I've had a letter to the editor published in the New York Times, successfully finished a 40-page thesis as part of my undergraduate education, and currently write for Ordinary Times, a group blog whose alumni have gone on to write full-time for Forbes, the Atlantic, and other prestigious publications. For the latter, I scored in the 98th percentile of the LSAT and achieved admission to a a top-25 law school with a generous scholarship.It's tremendously fulfilling to see students grow as writers and as thinkers as they progress through a curriculum, something I am very fortunate to witness.
