I am a New York State Certified Teacher. I am an alumni of SUNY Albany where I received my Bachelor's Degree in English Studies. Further, I am a recent graduate of Saint Joseph's College. It is there that I received a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I became certified to teach Birth to Second Grade General and Special Education. Within the last few years I have taught at various grade levels. I taught at a Preschool for students with Autism, and currently teach at the Kindergarten, First and Second grade levels. Furthermore, I spent time mentoring and tutoring students at risk of dropping out of school.As a teacher, I found it to be a natural instinct to want to tutor. Being in a classroom daily, I see how easy it is for students to "slip through the cracks" and not receive the one-on-one attention they need or would benefit from. My goal is to help students stay on track, excel and enjoy learning as much as I do. As someone who studied English in College, I am proficient in essay writing as well as taking a part texts to decode their meanings. More so, I enjoy tutoring in Early Childhood subjects such as Mathematics, Reading, Writing, and study skills/organization.My goal is to work with each student in a way they learn best. I am a classical musician and fantasy/ sci-fi novelist with over 5 years of teaching/ tutoring. I give music lessons, and tutor writing/ English. I absolutely love working with students and seeing them improve over time with their musicianship, writing skills and creativity. I create unique lesson plans that cater to the individual. As an artist and novelist, I like to take a unique and fun approach to teaching.

I got my Computer Science degree in China and my Master of Business Administration in Digital Technology in Canada. My tutoring experiences started when my first child went to school 11 years ago. I have been tutoring math and Chinese to students from first grade through twelth grade. I started teaching Chinese to adults two years ago.My favorite math subjects are Algebra and Geometry; I consider these to be two of the most important subjects. I like S. Gudder's quote "The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple." I try to make math easy for my students; I break down complicated problems, teach students "short cuts," focus on basic knowledge, and make sure students' grades improve.I like teaching Chinese, my mother tongue. At the same time I bring my students absolute non-accent Mandarin speaking and the most educated high-level language. I always share my deep understanding of the culture to my students. Chinese characters are hieroglyphic, which I find fun to learn.I like reading and traveling. China, Canada and USA are all my beloved hometowns. China is where I was born, went to school and had a career as a computer business owner. I am a Canadian citizen. I will permanently live in USA for rest of my life.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame. After graduation, I entered a M.S. graduate program in Biology at Arizona State University. When I'm not teaching biology to undergraduate majors at ASU, I research topics in aquatic ecology. Understanding the connectedness and patterns of environmental processes in aquatic ecosystems drives my passion to become an ecologist!My goal is to help students view learning as a positive experience! When students learn with me, they usually find that it is a very relaxed, hands-on, and visual process. I excel at tutoring biological subjects, but I also really enjoy helping students improve their writing and standardized testing skills. Every student is different, and so I firmly believe that studying and learning habits should be tailored to each person. I make it a goal to help students discover how they learn best! I can also help students with organization and time management techniques along the way.When I'm not being a student, teacher, or researcher, I am usually making art or exploring the outdoors in sunny Arizona!

Two of my passions in life are Spanish and children. I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Spanish K-12 Education from Bemidji State University. Upon my graduation from college, I studied Spanish at Universidad Internacional in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Then I spent 2 years in Costa Rica as a missionary. During my time there, I also traveled to many other countries in Central America. I was a Spanish teacher for a Christian School for 3 years in Ohio. My responsibilities included teaching Spanish to all elementary grades including pre-K and middle and high school Spanish. In today's world being bilingual opens up many opportunities. I look forward to assisting students in their Spanish language journey, and sharing my passion of Spanish and Hispanic culture.

Born and raised in New York, I went to Bronx Science for high school and graduated from Columbia University in 2012. I recently graduated with an MBA degree at Cornell University and will be working in brand management. I have over 6 years of tutoring experience in NYC for middle school math, English/writing, PSAT/SAT prep, and Algebra Regents test prep. I also have a Masters degree from Fordham Graduate School of Education for teaching special education and taught high school special education for two years before going to business school. My passion for tutoring started early on when I was in high school. As a member of the National Honors Society at the Bronx High School of Science, I often tutored my peers and discovered early on how much I enjoyed sharing knowledge and helping others learn and improve in various subjects. After I graduated high school and went to Columbia University, I continued tutoring on the side in between my own undergraduate classes. Past clients have described me as extremely helpful, caring, dedicated, patient, and flexible. I've worked with many different types of students, and my goal is to always empower each student to take control of their own learning and education by giving them the support that they need to ultimately become self-sufficient lifetime learners.

Countless newspaper crosswords, video games, detective novels and riddles later I noticed that I could teach things to myself and others in the same way I approached these puzzles. Assess, plan, solve and check. Communicating what I know to others is something I have been doing my entire life. From tutoring my peers in math and science to volunteer tutoring immigrant students struggling with English I have been constantly reminded of my love for learning and teaching what I have learned to others. I firmly believe that the methods within the art teaching are flexible. One approach does not work for everyone, so I look for solutions from all angles. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a minor in English. I went on to receive my Masters in medical physiology at Loyola University Chicago. I tutor a wide range of subjects including SAT test preparation, Biology, Math, Chemistry, English and Literature. Although I enjoy tutoring all subjects, I especially enjoy tutoring the sciences (AP and IB) and literature. I think learning is a lifestyle so I constantly work to acquire more knowledge and come up with additional ways to internalize that knowledge. This lifestyle extends outside of my studies.
