Hello everyone! I am a graduate of William Paterson University and Grand Canyon University. I received my Bachelors of Arts in English literacy and I received my Masters degree in Elementary Ed. Focused in K-6. After graduating with my bachelors degree I joined a program called City year where I tutored 5th grader scholars reading, math, science, social studies and writing in New York City. After learning how much I loved teaching students I joined a school in New York. Where I taught for five years in Kindergarten, 1st grade, And 4th grade. During my fifth and sixth year of teaching I received my Masters degree in elementary education and moved to Florida. I am most passionate about teaching my students how to read and comprehend stories. I believe reading is fundamental! We can learn a lot about life by reading many different books. When tutoring, I believe that teaching to the student's learning style is very important because that's how they will interpret the lesson that you are teaching them. In my spare time, I love to hang out with my family, Traveling, going to the beach and reading books.

Let me help you SHATTER the EXPECTATIONS! First...we have to figure out HOW you learn! What's your style? Then...we'll come up with a game plan. Finally...we'll celebrate your successes! I LOVE teaching people how to write...creative writing...argumentative/persuasive writing...explanatory/informative writing. It's my thing! (And...we can even add some hands-on, artsy components to the lesson! Fun! Fun! Fun!)

I have taught for 14 years working primarily with special education students in 1st through 6th grade. My favorite subject to teach is math. For the last 4 years I have taught 6th grade regular and accelerate math in middle school. I have taken some time away from teaching to care for my toddler but would love the opportunity to tutor students in the meantime.

Japanese is FUN! I am a non-Japanese, Japanese tutor. Having learned the language myself I can give you insight into the language and learning it that a native Japanese speaker cannot. I have been in your shoes, have been where you want to go, and can help you get there. I took four years of Japanese in High School (my senior class was taught by a non-Japanese Japanese teacher, my best Japanese teacher ever) and passed the AP Japanese test. I took Japanese at University of Miami and went on student exchange for one year to Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. I transferred to Sophia University and graduated from there with a bachelors in International Business. While there I took their intensive Japanese and Advanced Japanese courses, and then took a portion of my regular coursework in Japanese. My tutoring experience started with 1.5 years tutoring English in Tokyo. In 2012 I took a seminar in Texas for Accelerated Language Teaching Methods that covered the methods used by the Canadian Institute of English (CIE). I use these methods (including Audio-lingual method & Total Physical Response) in my LIVELY tutoring sessions. I play Jazz saxophone (gave lessons/played a few live gigs in Tokyo), so I love audio learning methods. My day job is Web Development but my fun job is tutoring Japanese. I tutor at a small private school in Delray Beach and with Varsity Tutors. Yoroshiku!

I am currently a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's program at Nova Southeastern University, and I received my B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish from the University of Miami in 2016. I am a native speaker of English and Russian. Throughout the course of my education, I have helped my fellow students improve their analytical and writing skills through collaboration. I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects, including standardized test preparation, English literature up to the college level, essay and academic writing and grammar, Russian and Spanish language skills. Having scored in the top percentiles on the verbal and essay writing sections of standardized tests, such as the SAT and GRE, I also possess the perspective and expertise to help others excel on these and similar exams. I am passionate about empowering students to achieve their full potential through education, and I strongly believe tutoring can be a valuable tool for any student's academic growth. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crafting, and journaling.

Anyone can learn with the right teacher! Many students today question why they need to learn when information is so available on the internet. I always explain that we may not do push ups in the grocery store, but it is the arm muscles we gain from exercise that allow us to carry whatever it is we bought. Learning is exercise for the mind!
