I'm an undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University. I'm passionate about helping others reach their full potential, and I would love to help you reach yours! I am a graduate of McGill University and have a double major in Chemistry and English Literature. In the two years post college, I taught in two different school districts through AmeriCorps, the domestic Peace Corps. Last year,I taught K-5 grade in small group settings and managed a homework club. This year, I advise high school students on the college admissions process. I enjoy working with students and helping them achieve their personal best! I look forward to tutoring students this year and assisting them in their studies.

My expertise is in classroom, small group, and one-on-one instruction in physics of the first year. I have, however, taught at all levels from non-science major courses through the graduate physics curriculum. My education includes a bachelor's degree in physics from Amherst College and a doctorate from Stanford University. During my career I spent time at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, the University of California, San Diego, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the California Institute of Technology, and Brandeis University, where I worked for nearly 40 years. I am a firm believer that students learn in STEM fields only by doing, not by merely listening. Thus the core of any tutoring experience with me is working on problems. The most formative experience a student can have is to work through a problem, explaining each step to the tutor as he or she goes through it. Only by explaining the concepts and skills to someone else can one be sure of his or her own understanding. My goal in any tutoring interaction is to assist the student in gaining the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to attack any conceivable problem set to him or her by a classroom teacher.

I'm a post-bac student at Goucher college. I recently graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors of Science in computer science and mathematics. I have tutored mathematics and SAT math preparation for multiple years and have participated in peer-tutoring at Northeastern. I love solving problems, being outdoors, and dancing!

I am a licensed Math Teacher for grades 5-12 in Massachusetts, and have I have extensive experience working with students of all grades and academic levels. I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Mathematics and Secondary Education, and have worked as a private tutor, classroom teacher, and full-time tutor for all grades K-12.

I am a third year biology major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a strong background in math at all levels. Along with my biology degree, I am also studying for two minors in psychology and mathematics. I have experience as a tutor, both freelance for a year with several students and working through a school as a math tutor and SAT prep tutor for three years. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, the ocean, and playing guitar and piano.

I'm not tutoring or buried in my textbooks, you will either find me rock climbing at the Triangle Rock Club, playing Ultimate Frisbee, working on my car, or enjoying the great outdoors (beaches, mountains, forests--you name it, I love it). On rainy weekends I enjoy tinkering with computers and old electronics, playing Pokemon, or picking at my guitar.

I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.

I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.

I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with High Honors. With eight years of experience working in education, I've tutored students in math, science, history, and English, as well as helped students prepare for standardized tests. I've guided adults towards passing the US Citizenship Exam and taught English in India, where I lived for six months. Whenever I work with a student I personalize the lessons to fit their particular learning style, since I know every student is unique and having the right fit can make all the difference in making learning fun and effective. My strengths are tutoring the social sciences and humanities, as well as making math and standardized tests approachable to students that normally don't like those subjects. In my spare time I like traveling, spending time in the outdoors (climbing & backpacking), meditation, and playing soccer. Next fall I will be beginning my PhD in Education at Harvard University.
