This advanced course trains students to install, configure, and operate local and wide area networks using protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, AAA, IPv6, MPLS, STP, DSL, VTP, Gigabit, and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Labs are used extensively to focus on developing skills to build campus networks using multilayer switching technologies, creating and deploying a global intranet, and troubleshooting. Students will be prepared to take the Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) exams at the completion of the course. Aspects of cloud computing with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS are covered as well as Voiceover- IP (VoIP) and Cisco Unified Communication Manager topics. Students use VMWare and Microsoft virtualization products to build servers in virtual and cloud environments. Students also gain experience in setting up and configuring Microsoft Server products. Students are prepared with broad and transferable planning, management, communication, and advanced food production skills for employment and post-secondary education.

Advanced Digital Video Content Creation offers a comprehensive look into the world of professional video and film production. In this course, students gain hands-on experience in a modern post-production facility equipped with industry-standard tools. They will engage in all aspects of production, including planning, writing, directing, shooting, editing, and producing their own videos. With access to top-tier digital cameras, DSLRs, as well as audio and lighting equipment, students will have the resources they need to create high-quality content. Their films will also be entered in local film festivals, offering a unique opportunity for exposure. Throughout the course, students will broaden their understanding of career possibilities through field trips to nearby studios. They will also have the chance to connect with industry professionals during classroom visits and at film festival seminars or career days. This class provides a strong foundation for those looking to pursue advanced college courses or work in the video production industry. Additionally, students will play an active role in creating a bi-weekly student-produced morning announcement program. This course provides support for students who struggle academically and need assistance with conceptual understanding of academically complex material.

This course is designed to help already developed leaders become practicing, independent leaders within the school and larger community. Learning will be focused on helping students develop, plan, and fulfill a personal leadership project that will be implemented within the class that will be based on all previous leadership learning. Students may have the opportunity to work closely with the Bellevue community in internships and community outreach projects.

Academic coaches support classroom instruction by working with individual or small groups of students. Academic coaches will receive training in their role, including effective tutoring practices, working with teachers, being self-motivated, and having a positive impact on the classroom environment. The academic coach will work closely with the classroom teacher to support student learning of the lesson objectives.

In this course, high school freshmen will learn specific writing skills and demonstrate their academic writing competence. Course content includes allusions, short story, poetry, drama, and novels. Students will engage in the writing process to produce increasingly sophisticated essays. Students will analyze literature, conduct research, and synthesize meaning from historical, cultural, and intellectual contexts while pursuing multiple themes. In addition, instruction will develop skills in critical thinking, effective discourse, collaboration, reflection, and standard English writing conventions.

The course content is focused on the study of the novel. The significance of historic and other cultural influences on literature will be explored, as well as theme, character, structure, and literary devices. Of the studied fictional works, some will be American literature and some will be World literature. Analytical reading and essay writing are included. The course content also includes presenting literary analysis. Note: if taking this course as an IB Diploma candidate, please read the second-year course description as well, since students will be required to take IB Literature for 2 years.
