Advanced Cisco Ccnp Am
10th Grade, 11th Grade, 12th Grade

This course is part of Washington Network for Innovative Careers (WANIC), a seven-district partnership whose primary mission is to provide quality, diverse, and cost-effective career and technical education for all students through interdistrict cooperation. WANIC courses are challenging, relevant, specialized programs that meet for 3 periods per day all year. BSD students do not need to fill out a WANIC application for courses held at Bellevue schools. Learn more about all the opportunities available through WANIC at their website. This is a 3-period Skill Center class that provides 3 high school credits. This advanced course trains students to install, configure, and operate local and wide area networks using protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, AAA, IPv6, MPLS, STP, DSL, VTP, Gigabit, and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Labs are used extensively to focus on developing skills to build campus networks using multilayer switching technologies, creating and deploying a global intranet, and troubleshooting. Students will be prepared to take the Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) exams at the completion of the course. Aspects of cloud computing with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS are covered as well as Voiceover- IP (VoIP) and Cisco Unified Communication Manager topics. Students use VMWare and Microsoft virtualization products to build servers in virtual and cloud environments. Students also gain experience in setting up and configuring Microsoft Server products. Program fees may apply. Financial assistance available for qualifying students.

Advanced Digital Video Content Creation
10th Grade, 11th Grade, 12th Grade

Are you interested in television production, filmmaking, and professional video creation? Advanced Digital Video Content Creation offers a comprehensive look into the world of professional video and film production. In this course, students gain hands-on experience in a modern post-production facility equipped with industry-standard tools. They will engage in all aspects of production, including planning, writing, directing, shooting, editing, and producing their own videos. With access to top-tier digital cameras, DSLRs, as well as audio and lighting equipment, students will have the resources they need to create high-quality content. Their films will also be entered in local film festivals, offering a unique opportunity for exposure. Throughout the course, students will broaden their understanding of career possibilities through field trips to nearby studios. They will also have the chance to connect with industry professionals during classroom visits and at film festival seminars or career days. This class provides a strong foundation for those looking to pursue advanced college courses or work in the video production industry. Additionally, students will play an active role in creating a bi-weekly student-produced morning announcement program. For those looking to further their credentials, the course offers an opportunity to earn the Adobe Certification in Adobe CC software, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.
