I am a personable and enthusiastic educator with more than a decade of tutoring and classroom teaching experience. I started as a peer tutor in high school and continued working as a tutor and Teaching Assistant in college. After receiving a degree in Biochemistry from NYU, I joined the Peace Corps, where I was assigned to teach high school Math, Science, and English. I loved teaching so much that I stayed to continue teaching and tutoring even after my tour of service had ended. After returning to the US, I received my MPH from Emory University in 2018.Because of my extensive and varied experience, I am willing and able to teach students of all ages and learning styles.

I graduated from UT Arlington in August of 2013. I received my Bachelor of Science inEconomics with an emphasis on business modeling and management. I tutor many subjects, although Math is my favorite, specifically Algebra. I know that Math can be difficult for many, but I try to make it enjoyable. In my experience as a tutor I have found that the most rewarding aspect is seeing students succeed. When a struggling student completely understands the subject they were having trouble with it is very rewarding to see them excel. My students performed very well on their final exams, which were full-length AP tests using questions from past exams, averaging. In world history, I wrote my own test questions, since test banks accompanying the text involved little more than memorization. I try to inject more rigor into my lessons and assessments.I never go into a professional activity with a client without a great deal of preparation. In my economics and government classes, I prepared detailed study guides both to prepare myself and to assist students. I believe my students' performance in AP classes was directly related to these guides. As a tutor, in my first meeting with a student, I will assess the nature of their concerns with the subject. I will review with them the syllabus and their recent exams and assignments to identify the key problems. Problems might include study habits, difficulty with key concepts, and absorbing the sheer volume of material, among other things.
