Hi everyone,My name is Dikshya. I am from Kathmandu, Nepal and I moved to New York to study Mathematics. I graduated from Manhattanville College with Honors in Mathematics and Economics. I have a great passion for learning as well as teaching. I have previously worked as a tutor for College level Calculus and Statistics. I enjoy tutoring because it also allows me to continually recall the subject matter and gives me a different perspective on the same subject matter each time. I am aspiring to pursue graduate program in Mathematical Finance in the following year. In my free time I like to do puzzles and watch tv!

I earned my PhD in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and my BA in Biology from Sarah Lawrence College. I also have a Certificate of Advanced Study from The College of St. Rose, where I studied Adolescent Education. I currently work as a research scientist but tutor students because I enjoy teaching. I especially love working with students one-on-one. I currently tutor Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and general science. I have loved Biology since I was in High School and especially love Microbiology because it is completely fascinating. My tutoring style tends to be a mix of both auditory (explaining) and visual (drawing) styles with the understanding that each student learns in their own way. I think it is essential for each student to find meaning in what they are learning. In my spare time, I enjoy horseback riding, playing with my dogs, tending my plants, and watching movies.
