I am a professional full-time Language Arts, Reading and Writing teacher. I have taught middle school students for going on 19 years this year. I have a B.A. degree in English, Language and Literature, a M.S. degree in Education and a second M. S. degree in Criminal Justice. I also am ESOL and Reading Endorsed. I love to teach students in a variety of ways. My passion for teaching has resulted in me receiving the accolades Teacher of The Year, Teacher of the Month a couple times, Whose Who among Teachers, and Highly Effective teacher two years in a row. I feel the 21 st century student has plethora amount of resources that can allow him or her to excel in college-readiness courses, academic rigor and life skills. I enjoy the fact that I can give students an opportunity to work independently, with a partner, group and with me during teacher -led discussions. My gumption also allows me to remain persistent, patient and willing to help my students in many ways. I use visuals, manipulatives and hands on activities to increase engagement at all times. I look forward to working with you and your child so we together can enhance strengths, increase reading levels, fluency, vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension scores. I am ready to dive in and soar with your child.
