An African man once said "If you want people to understand you, speak their language." I am fluent in 3 and a half languages. The reason why I say 3 and a half instead of 4 it is because the fourth one is not practiced as much as I would love to. Born and raised in Haiti (Central America), I automatically grew up bilingual speaking both Haitian Creole and French. At the age of 8 I was already proficient in English, by the age of 12 I was introduced to Spanish. In 2007, my family decided to move to America due to political problems. Adjusting to the American culture took me some time, but I quickly understood it because I already spoke the language. Foreigners I encountered throughout my path in life were always eager to speak to me because I understood them in a way that others did not simply because I spoke their language. The power of understanding someone else's language is amazing and can build lifetime relationships. I am here today to help you speak my language so you can understand me and my culture better.

I recently graduated from Bard College at Simon's Rock with a BA in Physics and Visual Studies. My research areas in Physics include quantum optics and geophysics, particularly about entanglement and the Earth's inner core, respectively. My focus in Visual Studies is lens arts and film studies with a strong lean towards formalism. The two disciplines may seem very unrelated to you, but it is the combination of the two that makes me a great student and teacher! A few fun facts about my college experience: I actually finished high school in 3 years and began college a year earlier than usual, and I studied abroad in Scotland (University of Glasgow) and the Czech Republic (Film Academy of Prague) during my junior year!My teaching experience include peer tutoring during my college years, working with both individual students and entire classes on college-level physics, math, and Spanish. Just after receiving my BA, I designed and taught my first full course on Climate Change at the 10th grade level. We covered all sorts of material, including the Physics and Chemistry of the atmosphere and ocean, all the way to a Model UN simulation to discuss global policies!I am moving onto a PhD program in Physics at Northeastern University, but I hope to continue to teaching throughout and after the program. I love helping students reach their potential. The pride and joy of watching my students come to an understanding with new concepts, develop a love for new disciplines, and find passion for learning -- it is the most beautiful thing I have experienced. And it's all thanks to you, the amazing, bright, and motivated students!

I recently graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing and a passion for teaching others! I have five years experience working as a program aide for an elementary school and two years experience tutoring high school students. When it comes to tutoring my motto is "Show don't Tell!" and I believe that any student has the opportunity to do better with the right resources and attitude. I can help with most math and english ranging from elementary to high school as well as ACT test prep. I especially like helping with essays (providing I have read the book or material it is based on). My biggest interests outside of tutoring are beach volleyball and comedy, but I also love reading, and I even occasionally DJ.

I have an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and a graduate degree from Boston College. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown with a major in History and a minor in Government. I focused on both U.S. and Middle Eastern history at Georgetown, and was invited to write an Honors thesis for the History department my senior year. After graduating from Georgetown, I began my studies at Boston College where I received a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I am now a history teacher at a public school in Massachusetts, where I teach U.S. History I and II, as well as Modern U.S. History. Not surprisingly, my favorite subject to teach and to tutor is History. I am most passionate about the history of the U.S. since 1945, but as I am sure most of my students will attest, I truly do find the history of any nation or time period fascinating. I also enjoy teaching and tutoring for the SATs and other standardized exams, in part because I believe that any student can improve once he or she knows how to study, and most importantly, how to build the endurance to take a standardized test as lengthy as the SAT. I approach the SATs much in the same way that I approach running – if unit tests in school are one-mile warm-ups, then the SAT is a marathon. With the right training (and dedication), I firmly believe that any student can improve. I have taught SAT prep classes in a variety of capacities. I worked for a major SAT prep company while in graduate school, and also piloted my district’s SAT prep course (which I designed the curricula for). I take a collaborative approach to teaching, and both in the classroom and one-on-one, I believe that the best way for a student to learn material is to move beyond recall and work toward synthesis and analysis for complete understanding. When I’m not teaching or tutoring, I love to read history books (especially those about Robert Kennedy), run (long distances – in all types of weather), and travel. The most incredible place I have been is Tanzania – if I hadn’t packed three massive Teddy Roosevelt biographies in my suitcase, I definitely would have brought home many more souvenirs.

I believe that education should be a diverse, student-focused, lifelong pursuit. I earned a BS in Economics and a minor in Film and Media studies from the University of Rochester, and am always seeking out new learning opportunities in my post graduate life. Through participation in a volunteer tutoring program on weekends, I discovered the satisfaction of helping students reach their potential. I've found that any student can enjoy learning when it's catered to their learning style and needs. A strong education can be a path not only to academic success, but also personal growth. Students aren't just learning science or writing, they're learning confidence, independence, and good habits.

I have an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology. I believe any child can learn as long as we, as adults, are patient and kind when teaching and we find a way to make learning fun. I have ten years of experience, including with K-1 students. I have worked with students of all ages and thoroughly enjoy helping students learn and grow when struggling with English related subjects. It is important that students learn not only the content of their classes, but also how to study and prepare for academic success throughout their educational career. I look forward to working with you and/or your student!

After obtaining an Associate's Degree in Science from Navarro College, I transferred into Texas A and M's Computer Engineering department in 2015. I am currently progressing towards my Bachelor's in this area. I tutored students while attending Navarro in Math and Science. Coincidentally, these are my favorite subjects even though that is what was in demand at the time. I seemed to flourish in these subjects when I broke theorems down into easier to understand rules, rather than always trying to apply the complicated jargon in the textbook. After implementing this into my tutoring, I noticed that it helped students feel at ease with the material. When I am not studying, I like to workout and practice overall fitness.
