I have served in this position for the past six years rotating between EBD, LBD, and collaboration/resource in the regular education setting.Throughout my career I have worked in early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school. I believe any student has the ability to learn any subject. The reason students tend to struggle is because the information has not be presented in a way that they can understand. As a tutor, my job is to recognize when the student is struggling. This allows me to adjust my teaching and ask different questions to gauge their understanding.I am also a huge advocate for active learning. Just reading or looking at the information is not enough to gain a grasp on the information. Through the use of recall, active work, and student-given explanations, I help the students become more confident in the work. They will feel more prepared for tests and every day class assignments.

Hello! I am currently studying Teaching English as a Second Language at Davis College. This is my last semester and I'm so excited to graduate and use my degree.I am also currently a tutor at Davis and work in the library as a librarian's assistant.I run an ESL group for college students and young adults and have also learned a lot from that.I want to help others thrive in their education and to learn in whatever way is best for them. I am an undergraduate at Yale University studying Biomedical Engineering. For two years, I tutored students through a non-profit organization named STEM + Youth (STEMY). STEMY is a nonprofit organization with a mission to break gender, racial, and socioeconomicbarriers through student driven STEM education. I developed lesson plans and taught a classroom of middle schoolers in science and engineering. This past summer, I served as a teaching assistant for Yale Pathways to Science and tutored high school students on the subjects of chemical properties and engineering.
