I graduated this past May from the University of Minnesota's Master of Accountancy program. Prior to attending graduate school here in the Twin Cities, I completed my bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Denver with a minor in international studies. As someone with extensive experience taking various standardized tests (GMAT, ACT, SAT, AP Exams, etc.), and is currently in the process of completing the CPA exams, I feel that I am a great resource for students preparing for similar tests. I also taught learn-to-skate classes for students four years old and up. I am a graduate of UW-Eau Claire with a BS in communication sciences and disorders and an MS in speech-language pathology. While in school, I was a TA and completed a masters thesis. I have been an SLP for 6 years and that continues to be my "day job." I wanted to get into tutoring because I wanted something flexible while still teaching- it truly is a passion of mine! I've learned a lot being in public education, including working with students who have a wide variety of needs. I meet students where they are at with their skills and use their interests and strengths to continue progressing their goals. After graduation in 2011, I worked as a neuroscience researcher and, later, as a technologist and data scientist for Goldman Sachs and World Wrestling Entertainment. I am currently pursuing a creative writing career in addition to tutoring students. My tutoring specialties are the SAT and ACT Reading and Writing sections, in addition to the ACT Science section and general essay writing. My philosophy on college entrance exams is that practice tests are most valuable when combined with training in the general principles of English language, vocabulary and reading comprehension for which the ACT and SAT test. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy watching movies, going to concerts, and playing board games.

I have been speaking and continually learning French for 4 years. I started at the university level. I spent a total of 6 months in France learning at a French University.I hold a Diplme d'tudes en Langue Franaise level B2 that is good for life. I believe learning another language is not a sprint, but rather a marathon.

I am currently a student at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and receiving my B.A. in French with a concentration in educational studies and linguistics. My love for french and francophone cultures began when I was a student at a french immersion elementary school. I have been studying french for 15 years already! My hobbies include traveling, singing, playing in orchestra, hiking, swimming and spending time with friend and family. I dream of teaching english abroad after graduating from St. Olaf, maybe in France, Switzerland, Morocco or another francophone country. I'm in love with Minneapolis and the Twin Cities and hope to come back to the cities to get my Master's degree.
