- My teaching philosophy centers on interactivity and engagement.
About Me
I have taught students at every level from high school through university, helping them not only master challenging concepts but also develop a genuine appreciation for how chemistry connects to everyday life. I hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry and have taught at several Alberta institutions, including the University of Alberta, NAIT, Concordia University of Edmonton, and St. Mary's University. I believe students learn best when they are active participants in the learning process, asking questions, solving problems collaboratively, and connecting theory to real-world applications. Each session I teach is designed to be clear, supportive, and energizing, helping students build both confidence and critical-thinking skills. Over the years, I've guided hundreds of students preparing for college courses and professional exams such as the MCAT and DAT. I find chemistry especially rewarding because it challenges students to think deeply and logically. Watching a student move from uncertainty to mastery and even enjoyment of the subject is what motivates me every day. Outside of teaching, I create educational content for my YouTube channel and Instagram page, where I simplify chemistry concepts for learners of all backgrounds. I also enjoy swimming, lifting weights, and staying active to maintain my physical and mental well-being. When I'm not teaching or training, I love spending time with my two children and my husband, exploring science through nature and everyday experiences.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring topics in quantum physics through books and documentaries, swimming, weight lifting, and dancing. I also love traveling, discovering new cultures, and trying new foods. My family and I especially love sushi and seafood, and we’re always excited to explore new tastes together. Most of all, I cherish spending time with my children—joining them in activities they love and learning alongside them.
