Education has always been my passion as a student, teacher, literacy instructional facilitator and now as an administrator. I attended undergraduate at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. After graduation, I relocated to begin my teaching career and attended night school where I received my Cosmetologist License at Tennessee Tech. I taught 4th grade ELA for 5 years before becoming the literacy coach. As the instructional facilitator for 15 years, I worked with students and teachers to strengthen and enhance their reading and writing skills. Through modeling, guided practice, data analysis, and PLC, our school showed magnificent growth and gained proficiency in math and literacy. After receiving my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and also Curriculum and Instruction, I relocated to another an elementary school in the district where I continued as a literacy coach and gain another task as a dylexia screener and tutor until accepting another position in another district for my current position. Our current enrollment is approximately 800 K-6 students, and we are continuously working to improve student academic performance.
