About Me

I graduated from The College of William and Mary twice over. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology. I then completed my Masters in Education from The College of William and Mary with a concentration in Special Education. My humble beginnings as a teacher began at a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents with psychiatric and medical issues. In the years since, I have taught in public, private, parochial, day, and residential schools. Subjects ranging from English, Latin, math, and gifted education have been a part of my wheelhouse. I also taught English and study skills at a home education academy. While raising my children, I opened my own tutoring business and specialized in assisting learning-challenged students using educational therapy. I have also tutored various subjects, from algebra and biology to writing college essays. Teaching English online to students from around the world is another area I have thoroughly enjoyed. In the last five years, I have worked part-time in public schools as a math interventionist and math coach. Seeing the light bulb turn on when students finally understand a concept has been my joy. The reason I love tutoring is this: I feel I can make a difference in students' lives and students' learning methods. I believe when given the right tools, any student can learn.
