I taught at a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents with psychiatric and medical issues. In the years since, I have taught in public, private, parochial, day, and residential schools, as well as English and study skills at a home education academy. While raising children, I opened my own tutoring business and specialized in assisting learning-challenged students using educational therapy. I have also tutored subjects ranging from algebra and biology to writing college essays. Teaching English online to students from around the world is another area I have thoroughly enjoyed. In the last five years, I worked part-time in public schools as a math interventionist and coach. Seeing the light bulb turn on when students finally understand a concept is pure joy. I love tutoring because, with the right tools, any student can learn.
