About Me

I am a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School for Public Communications. I received my Bachelor of Science in Television, Radio, Film Production with a Minor in Spanish. Since graduation, I have worked in TV Representation Firms in Ratings Research, NYC DOE as an Administrative Assistant for a Community Education Council for District 1 in the Lower East Side, NYC Department of Homeless Services and NYC Department of Finance. I also tutored for both Champion Learning Center and Tutor Doctor for 3 years. I tutored grades K-12, with a focus on K-6. My favorite subjects to tutor are English Language Arts (ELA), Math and History because these were the subjects in which I was the strongest in school. Also, one of my hobbies is reading about History and current events. With Champion, I prepared students in the "No Child Left Behind" program for their Math and ELA state exams. With Tutor Doctor, in addition to helping grades K-6 with their homework (History as well), I also tutored adults looking to improve their English and learning the basics of Excel. I enjoy helping students both prepare for Standardized Tests and with their other schoolwork. I love to see their joy and sense of achievement when they learn and pass their exams. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for students to achieve their potential. I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy TV, internet, reading, following current events, watching sports and playing with my dog.
