About Me

I am a graduate of International Academy of Design & Technology with a degree in Interior Design. I also graduated from University of Central Florida with a degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders. I guess I'm a little eclectic with my pursuits, but I love being unique. I started my educational career as a speech & language pathologist in an elementary school. After 2 years of that, I decided to become certified to teach. My teaching certificate includes elementary education, exceptional student education, and English for speakers of other languages. The special education classroom is where I found out how much I loved working with student of varying exceptionalities. Each day was so rewarding and exciting, but paperwork and demands from district really put a damper on that joy of helping students. Tutoring came easily for me when the opportunity arose and I'm glad I never looked back from leaving the schools. Helping each student find their "light bulb" moment is what I continually strive for. I am primarily able to work with elementary students across all subjects and varying levels of ability. In middle school and high school, I am most confident with reading and writing, but can work with math if I have a chance to refresh my memory on the topic. I am trained to work with students who are learning English as a second language of any age. I have experience with helping prepare for different tests academically and professionally as the need arises. Hobbies: reading, music, writing, art, books
