About Me

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Economics with minors in Public Policy and Entrepreneurship. Currently, I am taking classes part time at the University of North Carolina to prepare myself for PhD programs in economics. I have dedicated my life to being an educator. After receiving a PhD, I hope to pursue a career as a college professor while possibly doing some independent consulting work. It is my eventual goal to be involved in academic administration. Along with a strong economics background, I am also well-versed in mathematics (up to multi-variable calculus), geography, writing, literature, reading, and history. I enjoy reading, writing and performing music, and sports during my free time. It is my passion to help others succeed and to recognize their maximum level of potential!

Q&A with Ben

The core of my teaching philosophy is the understanding that every student is different! In a tutoring setting, I will first try to find the areas in which the student is struggling. From there, I will attempt to learn what methods are most effective in instructing the student. Finally, using a teaching strategy that is effective for the student, I will spend a small amount of time reviewing strengths, while allotting most of the session to improving weaknesses. By tailoring my approach to each student, I hope to improve their confidence in the classroom and help them achieve the highest level of success possible.
