My major was Business and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.I am passionate regarding two subjects, and both involve numbers (Algebra and Accounting).My philosophy in learning is to initially have a broad understanding of the material. The question needs to be asked, what is the purpose of these concepts and what is it going to tell us. Knowing definitions and how these concepts interrelate are like the border of a puzzle. The next step is to go through problems, so you start getting a more detailed understanding to fill in the gaps and the rest of the puzzle. Between the initial understanding and the more detailed problem solving, should give the student an ability to think their way through a problem.I am very patient and know how uncomfortable it is when you're not understanding something. My objective is to clarify those uncomfortable moments and bring things to light. I will sit with a student for as long as it takes to ensure they understand a particular concept. I will also attempt to explain concepts in different ways to help a student learn.Other accomplishments in my career include obtaining a CPA license and being conditionally accepted in the MBA program at the University of Texas. During my college years, I had taken several math classes including College Algebra. On the GRE exam, which is the national graduate school entrance exam, I ranked in the top 6% on the math section. As a recently retired educator of the Clark County School District and teacher overseas, I still have a passion for teaching and helping the next generation of students achieve and strive to reach their own personal limits. I want to use my personal strengths along with good logical teaching methods and strategies to instill the joy of learning in every one of my students. I want my students to be good decision-makers who can take their learned knowledge and apply them into real-life situations.

Currently I am a graduate student in Stanford University's Master's Program for Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling. Prior to my enrollment at Stanford, I worked as a Genetic Counseling Assistant for Igenomix, a genetic testing laboratory. I graduated from Cornell University in December of 2021 with a BS in Biological Sciences and a minor in Education. As a student, I was a member of a research lab that works with the genetic basis of epilepsy in fruit flies as well as an undergraduate TA for a genetics laboratory course at Cornell. While I tutor a range of subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring biology and genetics, as that is where most of my expertise lies. I have enjoyed tutoring SAT and ACT math and science sections in the past and have found students have great success on these stressful tests after seeking out help from tutors like me. In my free time I love watching TV shows with my friends, being active, and painting. I am also a Crisis Text Line volunteer and enjoy taking shifts to help people through difficult times.

Currently, I am working towards obtaining my Master's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. My degree will be in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics.I am currently working as a Graduate Assistant in the Kinesiology Department. My passion for tutoring started in 6th grade. That year, I decided that I wanted to take the trip from California to Cooperstown, New York, when Tony Gwynn was to be a sure first ballot Hall of Fame selection. I came up with a plan to begin tutoring 2nd and 3rd grade students, to make enough money, to make my dream trip happen. I was successful, but more importantly, I learned that I had a passion and a gift for certain academic areas and sharing this gift with others.Throughout the next eight years, I tutored on and off while juggling school, baseball, and family. In addition to this tutoring experience, I worked for two years as a Camp Counselor for the city, during semester breaks, in college. Needless to say, I have a great relationship with children and I thoroughly enjoy watching them succeed.I am a huge sports fanatic and I enjoy just about anything to do with sports. In addition, I have a real passion for music. I played drums for several years throughout elementary and middle school.

I'm a Math teacher in Montclair state University and also getting my Master in Pure and Applied Mathematics.In my undergraduate days, I formed study groups with friends. Here, we would discuss mostly what we were taught in class. As we got to finals, we set up tutoring classes for freshmen math. There I discovered that my understanding of math got deeper as I taught other people.
