First, we covered magnetic flux and induced current because the student wanted additional practice. Then, we moved on to simple harmonic motion. Specifically, we covered Hooke's Law, restoring force, the spring constant, the period of an oscillating spring and the period of a pendulum, and conservation of energy. We talked about the differences between concave and convex mirrors as well as diverging and converging lenses. We reviewed the changes that appear when the object distance is either within or beyond the focal range. We went over what constitutes a virtual image versus a real image.

Today I helped the student complete a review of her Earthquake building project. She and a partner built a "building" of wood sticks in class in preparation to have it destroyed by a simulated earthquake this coming week. The student was responsible for writing a report about this building (how it was built, why it was built that way, etc.), and I helped her organize her thoughts and ideas so she could complete the report. We then mapped out the rest of her weekend and week in school, and I assisted her in starting to study for her upcoming history quiz.
