I grew up in Virginia, where I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma program in 2009. In 2013, I graduated from Barnard College with a degree in Political Science and Human Rights Studies. During college, I worked for the Junior Statesmen Summer School at Stanford University, where I helped students studying government, debate, international relations, and other topics. As a tutor, I believe there are no stupid questions, and that with enough hard work any student can succeed. In my free time, I'm an amateur photographer and an alumnae admissions interviewer for Barnard.

I am very passionate about helping students become the best they can be. I am not here to give all the answers, but rather to help students reach the answers themselves. My BA is from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, Phi Beta Kappa, and my MA is in Public Policy from the George Washington University in Washington DC. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics in May 2013 and am currently a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Mathematics Education (Ma.M.Ed.) program at Depaul University. My background in math, along with my teaching and tutoring experience, will allow me to help my students understand the content of their coursework and develop analytical abilities. I'm a former basketball player and am currently an assistant coach for Tilden High School's varsity basketball team. My other hobbies include music, movies, and football.

I graduated from Caltech with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Sports Administration (Sports Analytics track) at Northwestern University. I played 4 years of basketball in college and am on the coaching staff for the Men's Basketball team at the University of Chicago. I tutored in high school and college and take pride in my ability to explain things clearly. I am excited to meet and help new students!

After I graduated with degrees in English and Secondary Education, I served for five years in the United States Marine Corps as an Intelligence Officer. I recently left the Marine Corps and accepted a job at Simeon Career Academy in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood. I'm a dedicated professional who is committed to helping students achieve their goals. In my free time, I enjoy running long distances and hanging out with my family.

I am about to graduate this semester from the University of Illinois at Chicago majoring in Psychology on the pre-med track. I have also been accepted to and will be attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine next year. During my undergraduate experience, I was enrolled in the GPPA Medical Scholars Program and served as a mentor pre-med students. I tutored them in math and science courses as well as medical school level courses offered as a part of this program. I also served as an academic coach for high school and college students for 3 years through a peer tutoring program through my university and really enjoyed my experience working with a diverse group of students. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Psychology, English, Math, and Science. I have also prepped high school students for Standardized Tests, specifically on the ACT English portion. Currently, I am a social work intern in the department of psychiatry at Lurie Children's Hospital. I have experience working with young people who encompass a wide range of learning abilities and I am sensitive to the unique needs that may pose a challenge to a student's learning. I am comfortable tutoring a variety of different subjects, but I have the most experience tutoring psychology, English, and science.
