I'm Jenny and I am here to help. I graduated from Barnard College in May of 2018 with a History degree and the pre-med curriculum under my belt. I am in the process of applying to medical schools with aspirations to matriculate in 2021. Before going back to school, I am making it my mission to learn as much as possible outside of an academic context. Though I am a Massachusetts native, I now reside in Santa Fe, New Mexico where, among other pursuits, I am exploring pottery. That being said, to date I've had incredible academic experiences and would love to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for learning with you! With a strong background in the sciences and the humanities, I am here to help edit essays, work on math or science homework, demystify your college course load, or hone your study skills. Don't hesitate to get in touch! I always put my best foot forward.
I am a graduate of the University of Chicago where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Currently, I am in the master's program at the University of New Mexico where I am continuing my education in philosophy. Ultimately, I hope to go on to earn a PhD in Philosophy so that I can continue engaging in my passions for learning and teaching. While in school, I have spent countless hours coaching high school speech and debate both in person and working online with students across the country. My focus in coaching has been to emphasize philosophy and critical thought to prepare students to think through novel arguments on their own. I am passionate about teaching and tutoring because I love seeing students learn to be intellectually independent and think through problems on their own terms by developing their critical thinking skills. I have devoted my life to education because I am passionate about it, and I try to share some of my passion for learning with the students I work with. I tutor all sorts of Standardized Tests, and I particularly enjoy working on logic-based problems like analogies and math sections. When I am not tutoring or reading for school, I enjoy strategy games (both board games and video games), listening to music, hiking, playing basketball, and just relaxing with friends.
I am a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Duke University. My job requires excellent mathematics, analytic, and writing skills, which are also my favorite subjects to teach. I have experience teaching kids in elementary, middle, and high school, as well as college-aged students. My particular expertise is in managing attention and assisting with executive functioning (e.g., time management and planning).
I am a dedicated, highly motivated individual with a passion for enhancing the learning experiences of others. I have taught as a classroom teacher and as a volunteer at state and national parks for the past few years. I focus particularly on highlighting connections between various subject matter to individuals' everyday lives. After I graduated with my Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2014, I moved to New Mexico to pursue a career in environmental conservation. I currently work as a supervisor for an AmeriCorps program that provides opportunities for young adults to gain skills working in the field of conservation while also receiving training for personal and professional development. I aspire to become a ranger with the National Park Service and a freelance writer.
I am an aspiring character artist for games and currently work as a prop artist. I received my studio art bachelors in 2018 and a 3D modeling diploma in 2020. I tutor for drawing, digital painting, digital sculpting, 3D modeling and texturing for games. I believe in student-centered learning and prioritize building observational skills and fostering creativity. I think the best way for a student to learn is through discovery led by careful guidance.
I'm a Colorado native who just graduated Dartmouth College in 2016 with a degree in history and government. I am passionate about international issues, immigration and the American political system, and am currently volunteering at a local legal non-profit here in New Mexico. I will attend Stanford Law School in the fall, where I plan to study civil rights and liberties and constitutional law.
I'm listening! My students are going to have a better idea than I -- at first -- about what they need help with. Observe, ask questions, and work together to problem solve their success.
I am especially passionate about reading, writing, and foreign languages. I hope to share my passion for knowledge with those around me.
I am a graduate of the University of New Mexico, receiving my Master of Science in mathematics. I tutored as an undergraduate student, taught as a graduate student, and am now proud to be teaching as a faculty member at the local colleges and university. I firmly believe in teaching and tutoring by example, having the students play an active role in examples strengthens understanding and solidifies content knowledge. Outside of teaching an tutoring, I enjoy board games, sports, and being outside.
I'm Lorenzo! I'm a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying engineering and education. Teaching has been a lifelong passion and in school I am a part of multiple tutoring organizations in the Philadelphia area. I am passionate about math and science (especially computer science), as they form a basis of thinking that can help in every other subject. I also thoroughly enjoy teaching Writing, English, and History because their applications are so useful in the real world. Other than my abilities, I bring positive energy and attitude that is great for any student.
I am currently a junior at the University of San Diego. I am majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience. I love helping people and tutoring, and am always going to challenge the student to think critically and put in the work. My favorite subjects are the sciences. My hobbies include lifting, reading, and long road trips.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students from across Santa Fe's 11 school districts with personalized tutoring support. Whether your student attends one of the 54 schools in the area or is homeschooled, we match them with tutors who understand New Mexico's curriculum standards and can support their specific academic goals.
While Santa Fe's average student-teacher ratio is 14:1, many classrooms are larger, making it harder for teachers to address individual learning gaps. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction fills that gap by giving your student focused attention tailored to their learning style—something research shows dramatically improves outcomes compared to classroom instruction alone.
Tutors who work with Varsity Tutors in Santa Fe are familiar with New Mexico's academic standards across subjects like math, reading, science, and social studies. They align their instruction with what students are learning in class and help them master the skills and concepts needed to succeed on state assessments and grade-level benchmarks.
During the first session, the tutor gets to know your student—their strengths, challenges, learning style, and academic goals. They'll assess where your student stands in key subjects and work together to create a personalized plan. This foundation ensures every future session is targeted and effective.
Santa Fe students commonly seek support in math (especially algebra and geometry), reading comprehension, writing, and science. We also work with students on test prep for standardized assessments, AP courses, and language learning. Tutors can address any subject your student is studying.
Tutoring costs vary based on the subject, tutor expertise, and frequency of sessions. We work with families to find pricing that fits their budget—whether that's weekly sessions or more intensive support during critical times like test prep. Contact us to discuss options that work for your family.
Varsity Tutors connects you with tutors who have strong subject expertise and teaching experience. Many hold degrees in their subject areas, have classroom teaching backgrounds, or bring specialized knowledge in areas like test prep and language learning. Each tutor is vetted to ensure they can provide quality instruction.
Many students show improved confidence and understanding within the first few sessions, though the timeline depends on the student's starting point and goals. Consistent tutoring—typically weekly sessions—leads to measurable progress in grades, test scores, and subject mastery over weeks and months. Your tutor will track progress and adjust the approach as needed.
