Automotive Collision Repair students learn the basics of fixing and restoring damaged vehicles. Along with repairing the body of the vehicle, students learn valuable business skills like estimating cost of repairs, as well as hands-on instruction in the painting process inside a professional paint booth. Relevant industry skills taught include removal, repair, and replacement of interior and exterior body panels, accessories, electrical devices, trim, and automotive glass. Students learn the proper use of power and hand tools, welding and bonding processes and techniques, and safety.

Automotive Technology prepares students with the technical know-how and skills required to service and maintain automobiles. This program focuses on diagnosing and testing malfunctions in and repair of engines, fuel, electrical, cooling and brake systems and drive train and suspension systems. Students have access to professional technical repair information and will learn the PA state inspection procedures.

Students in our Construction program have the chance to learn carpentry, plumbing, roofing, and other related trades. Construction students apply their knowledge to building in the real world. Construction students have even installed solar paneling in the school district of Philadelphia. Our construction students have an opportunity to do on site community service construction work for home owners in Philadelphia.

The core curriculum of the Culinary Arts Program is the hands-on teaching of cooking techniques, baking skills, and restaurant service. Each part is supported by theoretical knowledge presented in the textbook and other written materials. The program will expose students to different cuisines from around the world and will use equipment found in both large and small-scale restaurants. Safety & Sanitation are emphasized, particularly personal hygiene and proper food-handling. Knife skills and proper use of tools and equipment are developed throughout the program. Culinary terminology, ingredient identification and usage, palate development, weighing and measuring, restaurant management and customer relations are highlighted.

The EMT program prepares students, under the remote supervision of physicians, for a career as an emergency medical technician. The courses include instruction in anatomy, physiology, patient assessment, airway management, trauma, medical emergencies, and other critical emergency response skills. Fire Academy students learn life saving skills for career and life. Students who are calm in a crisis and fit for being on call for emergencies receive training to save lives.

Health Related Technology (HRT) prepares students with foundational knowledge and skills to pursue healthcare careers. Students will learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, infection control, proper communication, medical mathematics, as well as the legal and ethical aspects of healthcare. This program provides hands-on clinical experience and prepares students for entry-level positions in various healthcare settings including hospitals, nursing homes, and medical offices.

Students who enter our Advanced Electronics and Automated Systems shop have an opportunity for a career in the vending industry and electronics field through instruction in electronics, robotics, telemetry, and refrigeration theory. Students learn troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electronic equipment, vending machines, and automated systems. The program covers circuit analysis, digital electronics, microprocessors, and programmable logic controllers used in modern automated systems.

Students entering the welding technology program are prepared to perfect both small and large scale welding techniques that are used in various forms of construction. Students learn various types of welding used in industry. The program provides comprehensive training in multiple welding processes and techniques. Students gain hands-on experience with professional welding equipment and learn industry-standard practices.
