Literacy Essentials is an "Orton-based" program. It contains the elements common to programs from this heritage. Instruction is multi-sensory, explicit and direct. Teachers use question and answer analysis and graphic organization of the content. The program begins with writing and spelling to teach reading—wiring children's brains to think deeply. Literacy Essentials features day-by-day organization of instructional information. The curriculum covers the areas of phonemic awareness, the alphabetic code which includes 72 common English spelling patterns or phonograms (first Basic Code then advanced code), orthography, vocabulary, writing and grammar, reading from accuracy to automaticity, and reading comprehension.

Singapore Math is a program that presents mathematical skill building and problem solving from a conceptual viewpoint. It saves instructional time by focusing on mastery of essential math skills, not on re-teaching skills that should have been mastered in prior grades. The program's detailed instruction, questions, problem solving, and visual and hands-on aids ensure that students master the material. Ideally, students do not move on until they have thoroughly learned a topic. Singapore textbooks are designed to build a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts as opposed to just memorizing algorithms and formulas. The focus on number sense, geometry, spatial relationships and measurement in the early grades make it a perfect match for the new Florida State Standards.

The Core Knowledge science program focuses on thematically-linked science topics and science biographies of great scientists. The science program is supported by Pearson's Science Explorer series, complete with integrated lab manuals and demonstrations, and Delta Science Content Readers.

Students at Pineapple Cove Classical Academy grades K-8 will also receive instruction in the fine arts via the Core Knowledge sequence. Studying music and the visual arts will teach students to appreciate beauty and equip students with important perspectives on their culture. In keeping with classical education, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy will teach music and art largely through an intensive study of technique and through the works of the masters.

The purpose of this course is to provide grade 7 scholars, using texts of high complexity, advanced integrated language arts study in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language for college and career preparation and readiness.

In grade 7, instructional time will emphasize five areas: (1) recognizing that fractions, decimals and percentages are different representations of rational numbers and performing all four operations with rational numbers with procedural fluency; (2) creating equivalent expressions and solving equations and inequalities; (3) developing understanding of and applying proportional relationships in two variables; (4) extending analysis of two- and three-dimensional figures to include circles and cylinders and (5) representing and comparing categorical and numerical data and developing understanding of probability.

Instructional time should focus on five critical areas: (1) solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and working with two- and three-dimensional shapes to solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume; (2) drawing inferences about populations based on samples; (3) formulating and reasoning about expressions and equations, including modeling an association in bivariate data with a linear equation, and solving linear equations and systems of linear equations; (4) grasping the concept of a function and using functions to describe quantitative relationships; and (5) analyzing two- and three-dimensional space and figures using distance, angle, similarity, and congruence, and understanding and applying the Pythagorean Theorem.

Includes formulating and reasoning about expressions and equations, including modeling an association in bivariate data with a linear equation, and solving linear equations and systems of linear equations; grasping the concept of a function and using functions to describe quantitative relationships; analyzing two- and three-dimensional space and figures using distance, angle, similarity, and congruence, and understanding and applying the Pythagorean Theorem.

Includes problem-solving, measurement, safety procedures, earth systems, genetics, energy transfers within systems, interactions of science with technology and society, limiting factors in ecosystems, inheritance patterns, trophic levels, and the relationship between temperature and molecular kinetic energy. Scholars will design and conduct scientific investigations demonstrating skill and knowledge in a variety of scientific areas.

Includes problem-solving, measurement, safety procedures, electromagnetic energy, space science, comparative astronomy, carbon cycle, structure and organization of matter, interactions of science with technology and society, photosynthesis, cellular respiration and atomic theory. The scholars will design and conduct scientific investigations demonstrating skills and knowledge in a variety of scientific areas.

The primary content for the course pertains to the principles, functions, and organization of government; the origins of the American political system; the roles, rights, responsibilities of United States citizens; and methods of active participation in our political system. The study of American history from the Exploration and Colonization period to the Reconstruction Period following the Civil War provides the framework for this civics education. The course is embedded with strong geographic and economic components to support civic education instruction.
