Provides work experience and instruction on various work tasks, including opportunities at non-paid district sites and competitive community sites for paid employment. Students participate in hands-on learning with job coaches to develop workplace skills and determine needed supports.

Instruction focused on skills needed for independent living as an adult, including home living experiences, managing personal care, maintaining proper hygiene, keeping track of belongings, and managing daily routines.

Community exploration and safety instruction, including transportation navigation, community site experiences, and learning to follow safety rules. Students engage in real-world learning experiences in community settings.

Instruction in social skills and manners, respecting personal space, following social cues and unwritten rules, maintaining appropriate voice levels, using appropriate language, and collaborative teamwork. Includes whole body listening and self-advocacy training.

Training in technology use for intended purposes, digital safety, keeping personal information and passwords private, and charging technology before school. Students learn appropriate technology use in educational and workplace settings.

Instruction and participation in recreation and leisure activities to promote healthy lifestyle choices and community engagement after graduation.

Preparation for postsecondary education and training opportunities, including self-advocacy skills, time management, accepting constructive criticism, and working as part of a team.
