UIL competition and off-season conditioning are the focus of our athletic programs. To be enrolled in the athletic class period boys must participate in either football or basketball. Students are required to maintain passing grades and outstanding behavior to participate in the athletic programs. In order to meet the UIL age requirements for 7th grade athletics a student cannot have reached their 14th birthday on or prior to September 1st of the current school year.

This course is an introduction to Athletics and will help prepare 6th grade students for participation in 7th grade Athletics. Students who are interested in playing sports in the 7th grade and in learning how to work hard and learn valuable life lessons through their sport are encouraged to enroll. This course is designed to be more physically demanding than PE (physical education). If a student has NO interest in trying out for a sport in 7th grade, this class may not be the right fit. Enrollment in Pre-Athletics will NOT be a requirement to take Athletics in the 7th grade.

The beginner and intermediate middle school tennis class will develop players that are proficient in executing proper stroke techniques. Proper stroke techniques will be reinforced through instruction and participation in various drills. In addition, the middle school tennis players will be instructed on the rules and procedures needed to successfully participate in matches independently. Students involved in middle school tennis will be encouraged to play additional sets/matches outside of the school day. Each middle school offers schedules tennis based on course demand and coach availability. Check with your counselor to determine the correct course number for your campus.

Middle school tennis athletes will compete against other Frisco ISD middle school tennis teams. Students participating as a member of the middle school tennis team must abide by UIL rules and meet all UIL requirements. Each middle school offers schedules tennis based on course demand and coach availability. Check with your counselor to determine the correct course number for your campus.

This course allows students to develop knowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, personal development, globalization, industry standards, and best practices used in a variety of agricultural fields. Students will also have the option to join the FFA organization where they will develop leadership and communication skills as well as the opportunity to participate in the animal industry through livestock showing or career development events. Course will count toward fulfilling prerequisites for Veterinary Medical Applications and Advanced Animal Science.

This course provides knowledge and skills related to animal systems, career opportunities, and industry expectations in livestock production. It provides the student with the opportunity to learn technical skills relating to the scientific and technological aspects of animal systems, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, reproduction, genetics, pests and diseases, business management and operation skills. Animal species to be addressed in this course may include, but are not limited to, beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, goats, poultry and exotics. Students will have the opportunity to improve their leadership skills through the FFA organization. Course will count toward fulfilling a prerequisite for Veterinary Medical Application and Advanced Animal Science.

This course is designed to develop knowledge and skills pertaining to the ownership, selection, reproduction, nutritional requirements, health and management, and breed identification of a variety of small animals common to the pet industry. This is a laboratory-oriented course that gives students hands-on experience in working with a variety of small animals that may include, but are not limited to dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, rabbits, other small mammals, as well as birds, reptiles and amphibians. It is highly recommended that students interested in the Veterinary Medical Applications program take Small Animal Management. Students may also capitalize on the opportunity to join the FFA organization. Course will count toward fulfilling a prerequisite for Veterinary Medical Applications and Advanced Animal Science.
