Mixed-grade-level advanced word study and orthography course providing systematic, explicit instruction on encoding and decoding English words including sound/symbol relationships, syllable types, and morphemes. (INACTIVE - Last offered 2023-2024)

Students will create both two and three-dimensional artwork using a variety of media, learn about different artists, engage in art criticism and aesthetic discussions, and investigate career opportunities in the arts. Participants will read and write in addition to creating and completing artworks. Each student is required to explore and document ideas within a sketchbook.

This secondary level art course gives students an opportunity to create artwork based on their own ideas in addition to assignments given by the art teacher. Students will build on the skills and techniques acquired in Art 1 and begin to develop a personal style. New artists and concepts will be introduced along with further examination of careers in the arts. Students will complete self-generated ideas in sketchbooks showing evidence of moving to a higher level of artistic competence

This course is designed for students who are primarily non-performers. Basic music theory, music history and music appreciation is taught. Students are taught critical listening skills through the study of composers and music eras. Performance on recorders or like instruments can be incorporated into the course.

This course is the entry-level course for male and female students desirous on learning proper vocal techniques. Basic music training will also be given in rhythm, pitch, sight-singing, solfege.

This course is designed for the male and/or female vocal students who wish to continue performing vocal music in a mixed choral setting but requires more vocal experience. Performance opportunities will become available based on proficiency.
