This introductory course teaches students both theory and practical experiences through Ground School and actual professional flight. Students focus on the fundamentals of flight as well as flight and pre-flight procedures. Students study human factors, airplane, and powerplant systems. Students study aerodynamics, the flight environment, communication and flight information, performance, and navigation.

This course provides advanced coursework and further technical training for students who have completed their approved CTE program. The course may lead to industry-recognized certifications and/or licenses.

This CTE program prepares students to apply technical knowledge and skills to the flying and/or navigation of commercial passenger and cargo, agricultural, public service, corporate, and rescue fixed-wing aircraft. Instruction includes principles of aircraft design and performance, aircraft flight systems and controls, flight crew operations and procedures, radio communications, navigation procedures and systems, airways safety and traffic regulations, and governmental rules and regulations pertaining to piloting aircraft. Students can also take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) commercial and airline aircrew examinations.

This course provides advanced coursework and further technical training for students who have completed their approved CTE program. The course may lead to industry-recognized certifications and/or licenses. In semester two of this course, students will learn about horn, wiper/washer, accessories, fuel system, air induction, exhaust system, brakes, and hydraulic system diagnosis and repair. They'll also learn to diagnose and repair miscellaneous (wheel bearing, parking brake, electrical, etc.) systems.

This course focuses student learning on the diagnosis and repair of suspension systems, steering systems, wheels and tires, drum and disc brake systems, and anti-lock brake/traction control systems. Students will also practice leadership, customer service, and teamwork skills. The culminating semester of this course focuses on automotive service repair competencies with an emphasis on professional service and diagnostic procedures. They learn the operation of automotive systems and perform hands-on job orders relative to: engine performance, brakes, steering/suspension, electrical/electronic systems, and engine repair. Students who successfully complete these courses are expected to take the Michigan Mechanic Certification Examination(s).

In this introductory course students explore the auto body shop while studying and learning the importance of shop safety. Students will also learn about collision repair careers. Students are introduced to paint spraying equipment, car surface preparation, as well as mixing and applying paints and primers.

In this course of the program sequence, students study car and panel detailing, damage analysis/estimating, and refinishing certifications. Students use advanced refinish equipment while studying advanced color mixing/refining and paint problems/defects.

This course provides advanced coursework and further technical training for students who have completed their approved CTE program. The course may lead to industry-recognized certifications and/or licenses.

In this course, students study database fundamentals, programming, decision making and coding principles. Students focus on email and personal information management/internet services and tools, internet security, and IT project management.

This course introduces students to the basic concepts of carpentry, masonry, and plumbing. Students will identify and safely operate all hand and power tools used in the trade. This course emphasizes safety and career awareness. Students begin to conduct advance builds and repairs in carpentry, masonry, and plumbing. Students also have an opportunity to earn OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications.
