Prerequisite: Army Junior ROTC III

The course includes introduction to the NJROTC program with an introduction to Leadership, Citizenship and the American Government, Wellness, Fitness, First Aid (including diet, exercise, and drug awareness), introduction to Geography, Orienteering, Survival and Map Reading Skills, Financial Skills, and introduction to the U.S. Navy.

Theater—Acting/Performance courses provide students with experience and skill development in one or more aspects of theatrical production, by concentrating on acting and performance skills. Introductory courses explore fundamental techniques, while advanced courses extend and refine technique, expand students’ exposure to different types of theatrical craft and traditions from varied social and historical contexts, and increase their participation in public productions.

This course provides concentrated study in advanced acting techniques and dramaturgy. African Dance builds students’ knowledge of dance as an art form while exploring and demonstrating the dance styles of Western and Central Africa. Students will analyze, evaluate and perform dances of these different regions as well as discover the historical background and relevance of the vast cultures within.
