Music theory, history, literacy, technique, and performance provide a strong foundation for students enrolled in the Conservatory's Band magnet program. Musicians choose among a variety of woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments to play and are trained to perform individually and as a member of the elite marching or jazz band ensembles, which perform throughout the community in festivals, parades, and competitions.

Grounded in music theory and history, the Conservatory's Choral Studies magnet program provides students with a strong foundation in healthy vocal production and solo vocal literature using repertoire that represents a variety of musical styles and genres. The fundamentals of music reading are emphasized through the use of melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic exercises. Singers display their talents at a variety of showcases offered within the community throughout the school year.

The Dance magnet program offers male and female students intensive instruction in Ballet, Modern/Lyrical, Jazz, and Hip-Hop with an emphasis on choreography, technique, and conditioning. The Conservatory's dancers perform in a variety of district and state competitions, participate in master classes with visiting dance professionals, and have the opportunity to perform in an annual dance showcase choreographed with dance professionals from the local community.

Entertainment Technology magnet students learn key industry skills--stage setup, lighting design and execution, and video production--through the use of professional audio and video equipment in the school's television studio. Team projects provide students with opportunities to engage in meaningful hands-on experiences where they apply the audio, video, and editing techniques needed to create a successful production. Video productions, such as short films, documentaries, and public service announcements are presented at the Conservatory's annual film festival.

Students enrolled in the Conservatory's Fashion Design magnet program explore and master visual art forms, fashion design, and entrepreneurial skills. Students work independently on projects that are designed to promote problem solving, personal expression, and creativity. Studies in pattern-making, sewing techniques, textiles, and product development teach students the valuable skills of planning, problem-solving, communication, and self-promotion, which are required for a career in fashion design.

The Conservatory's Orchestra magnet program provides comprehensive instruction in orchestral performance with components of music theory and history in a cooperative learning environment. Student musicians receive technical training in a string instrument of their choice --violin, viola, cello, or bass. Performance techniques include correct instrument and bow position, ear training, and note reading. Orchestra students showcase their talents throughout the year at various South Florida venues.

The Theatre magnet program offers a structured, pre-professional training program in all aspects of performance and technical theatre. Classes include lecture, projects, monologue, and scene work and are supplemented when possible with work in other related disciplines, including dance, music, voice, and writing.

Students enrolled in the Conservatory's Visual Arts magnet program explore and master both traditional and non-traditional art forms using a variety of two and three dimensional media - drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, computer graphics, sculpture, and ceramics. Students work independently on projects that are designed to promote problem solving, personal expression, and creativity. Studies in art history and art appreciation provide students with an understanding of artists' contributions to the development of world culture throughout time and the role of the professional artist in contemporary life.
