I received my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Emory University (Atlanta, GA). Upon graduating from Emory, I was accepted into Teach For America's Las Vegas Valley corps. As a member of the corps, I became a licensed teacher and have been teaching middle school science for the last three years. I recently attained my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in secondary sciences from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas.I am available to tutor in all subjects at the elementary and middle school level. The subjects that I am most excited about are science and math!Having worked with hundreds of students and taken courses in instruction, I am knowledgeable of several strategies, resources and methods to reach learners at all levels in ways that the learner will connect with most.I believe that everything can be exciting to learn once a meaningful connection has been made between what we are learning and our lives. I also believe that struggles lead to some of our greatest successes especially in education, growth and development.I am a lover of the arts and entertainment. I earned my masters from University of New England in Educational Leadership.I have taught in both traditional and non-traditional school settings. I have taught everything from sixth grade math through Calculus. I have tutored students from kindergarten through college.During my free time, I enjoy spending time outside, cooking, crocheting, and working out at the gym.

I started college at the age of fifteen. I received my Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on Psychology. Since graduation, I have continued my education at Nevada State College for a degree in Psychology. My experience consists of working with young students and teaching them new concepts. On the other hand, I am a volunteer at the local YMCA where I tutor students with special needs, specifically English Literature, and Spanish. It is imperative to ensure an education for those who will run the future and set the pathway for generations to come. On a personal note, my spare time activities include traveling and trying new foods.

I believe that all students are capable of learning any subject they pursue, and with this in mind, I genuinely want to cultivate this curiosity and watch students learn and grow. Throughout my high school tenure, I worked with a variety of age groups, ranging from 9 to 19 on various subjects, attempting to help expand their understanding in a fun and meaningful manner. I have always appreciated the hardworking nature of students, and come to learn that if you can teach a student right, they will always be willing to learn any subject regardless of difficulty. As an engineering student at Northern Arizona University, I am qualified and skilled in mathematics ranging from Algebra to Calculus, as well as both creative and non-creative writing styles which grant a major proficiency in English grammar, syntax, and diction. Also, considering my background as a military dependent, I have lived overseas in Japan, which have granted me an extensive knowledge of Japanese culture and customs, including a conversational understanding of the language and its utility. Japanese and English are my favorite subjects to study by far, as language is a hobby I enjoy, but I always have fun in any subject when the student and I can enjoy and appreciate the session as a whole. On that note, I have always prided my philosophy when it comes to teaching, as I believe every individual has their own strengths and weaknesses of acquiring and remembering information. I believe that identifying these aspects of a student's mindset and using them to "rewire" the way they process information can have a lasting impact on how they perceive learning altogether. Outside of academics, I really enjoy Pokemon, art, and hiking!

I have worked as a software engineer for Herlinda, Boldpenguin, and Lone Wolf Technologies. In addition, I am a coding instructor at a prestigious coding Bootcamp.My motivation for teaching encompasses using my real-world experience to help my students avoid the same struggles that I faced.Every student has unique learning habitssome students like hands-on exercises, others like more lectures. So, My teaching philosophy starts with knowing the student's learning method; then, it focuses on comprehending the problem and ends setting an adequate balance between theory and practice. During the session, I team with the student, and we work together to accomplish the goal.

As Senior College student and young Entrepreneur, I can relate to the challenges of studying. I've taught myself how the brain learns to be successful in my coursework, and I'm passionate about teaching. I do my best learning when I need to teach a subject from different angles of understanding.

More often than not, I am able to build a quick rapport with children. I am focused, energetic and driven, but I still know how to have fun. I have been certified in a program called Love and Logic which teaches adults effective discipline. Learning should be multi-disciplinary. Often history, science, math and writing all blend together. The beauty is in getting student to see how they blend together.

I am a reliable and well educated third year medical student that has been tutoring various disciplines for over eight years. I always strive to see my students succeed as I take great pride in their academic success.
