I have my bachelors degree in interior architecture from Boston Architecture College and I have experience with Sketchup Revit and Autocad

I'm looking forward to helping students with test prep and gaining a deeper understanding of their subject matter. As an American History major I'm especially interested in history, government, literature and the arts. Reading and grammar are my specialities! I've worked as a blog editor and communications professional, and so hope to help students improve their essay writing and sentence structure. I have worked with students of all ages and levels, including special needs students with ADHD and autism.

I recently graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Comparative Literature, as well as a secondary field in Gender Studies and a language citation in Arabic. I have tutored, taught classes, and facilitated workshops on subjects ranging from SAT prep to chemistry to spoken word poetry, and I especially enjoy working with middle school and high school students. I firmly believe that tutoring can and should be funeven SAT prep! Working with a student individually allows the two of us to team up to tackle the material using a range of strategies until we find an approach that works for this particular student. My favorite subjects to tutor include writing and editing, whether we're working on a research paper, a college application essay, or reviewing grammar; public speaking; SAT prep; and study skills and organization, because each of these areas boosts overall academic success and builds a student's self-confidence. In any subject, I focus on study skills, critical thinking, and independent concept reinforcement so that soon the student will no longer need me to excel. Some of my own favorite subjects to study include languages (I've studied Arabic, Spanish, Latin, and a sprinkling of Japanese), medieval history, and electrical engineering. When I'm not tutoring, I spend my time writing and performing spoken word poetry, riding my bike around Boston, and learning to cook.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Southern California. I received a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Accounting Information Systems. After graduating this year, I traveled extensively through Europe and the Middle East. I have experience teaching English to children in Madrid; tutoring junior high students in mathematics; assisting my many siblings with standardized test prep; and peer tutoring college students in business courses. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, math, public speaking, and standardized test prep. I am a firm proponent of equalizing education opportunities, as education is critical for an improved quality of life. I aim to tailor my tutoring style for each of my students to provide them with a personalized learning experience. I am a Boston native and am happy to be back in the city after 4 years in Upstate NY for college and 1 year working in New York City. I am working full time as a Project Manager at a translation company in the Boston, and am really enjoying it so far! I graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, in May 2015 with a BA in International Affairs and a BA with Honors in German, and a minor in Government. I worked as a tutor for all levels of German and for introductory levels of Government throughout my time at Skidmore, and I'm continuing to tutor outside of college because it's something that I love to do! I'm fascinated with the German language and culture, and I love being able to help others learn it with me. I started my fascination in the 7th grade (about 11 years ago!), and have been lucky enough to spend time in Germany to continue my studies- for three weeks in high school, and for 6 months in college. I also know German can be very frustrating to learn. I don't think I actually started enjoying my studies until college, when everything just seemed to click. As a tutor, my goal is to help students get to this moment, and beyond. My love for the German language has also fueled my interest in the English language and in writing. I enjoy helping students organize their thoughts and ideas, streamlining them into a concise and thoughtful statement. It???s a skill to write coherently and powerfully, and it???s something that does not come naturally to many people, so this is something I enjoy practicing with my students. Besides my passion for German and writing, I have always loved to swim and have swam competitively from fifth grade through my four years at college. I also love the outdoors and will take any opportunity to be in the sun or go hiking. If the weather isn't the best, which is often the case in the Northeast, I enjoy sewing, knitting, and other 'do-it-yourself' crafts.

I am a graduate of Colgate University where I earned a B.A. in Mathematics and French Language and Literature. While at Colgate I tutored three Calculus I classes for three consecutive years. I have always been dedicated to developing a passion of mathematics in young people, especially young women. In the last year, I have visited 52 different towns and cities across much of Western Europe while living in France. While there, I was an English Teaching Assistant in Tours, located along the banks of the Loire river. I taught at a school of predominately underprivileged students of North African descent and was lucky enough to learn about their traditions and experiences in France. I have a real passion for travel and exploring other cultures. Especially all their food! I love to cook and bake, and attempt to bring some of my favorite French treats into my own home. I love tutoring French because I have a passion for spreading this appreciation for other cultures. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio where I started learning French in my elementary school class. When I'm not tutoring or trying to teach myself something new, I love yoga, running and wandering around the beautiful Boston area.

After serving in the military for my first career, I'm excited to be living in Atlanta to begin my second. I am passionate about serving my community and hope that through tutoring I can reach out to local youth. While attending the Air Force Academy and Harvard, I have learned about discipline, dedication to hard work, and organization. I believe it is these life skills that aid in success in the classroom and building relationships.Working with young adults is a vocation for which I have always been passionate. Everything from being a camp counselor, to leading a cycling trip across the United States, to volunteer tutoring and mentoring, to being an Air Force pilot, I have experience sharing knowledge with others. Beyond teaching procedures or rote memorization of facts, I desire to teach the lessons behind the specific skill set so students understand the underlying concepts. I have been tutoring and teaching for the last 9 years, including math tutoring and teaching online computer science classes at Stanford.
