I'm eager to help you in your education. I'm a recent graduate of Harvard College looking to apply to law school. My senior thesis was written on John Dewey's ideas of education, which I deeply believe has incredible power to transform individuals and society.

I am a recent graduate of Williams College, where I studied political science with sidelines in history and English. Next fall, I am headed to Ithaca to study at Cornell Law School. I have experience tutoring in all subjects for high school standardized tests and in writing and history at higher levels, and am excited to pass on the benefits of my study as a tutor for the LSAT. I am a second year law student at the University of Chicago who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area! I tutor the SAT, ESL, and Spanish. I was an AVID tutor in high school, and after college I taught an ESL class and tutored a high school student in Spanish. In law school, I am involved with the Lawyers in the Classroom program. My tutoring philosophy is based on listening to students work through problems and helping them to spot their confusions or incorrect assumptions. I believe students learn much better when they aren't simply told the right answer or right reasoning; they need to get there on their own.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Alabama who will be starting at Yale Law School in the fall of 2019. I double majored in International Studies and French with a minor in African American Studies. During my time at UA, I participated in mentoring programs that allowed me to work with elementary school children, in addition, to being a coach for children aged 2-18 years old. I entirely self-studied for the LSAT and scored in the top 1 percentile, so I am well prepared for helping students achieve their law school goals.

I'm currently a second year law student at Boston College. My teaching experience started in eighth grade when I taught CCD to a group of first graders. Since that time, I've had a range of experiences in education. While at the University of Notre Dame, I tutored twice a week at the Robinson Community Learning Center. I also participated in a service trip to an alternative high school in Appalachia. Upon graduating from Notre Dame, I joined the Alliance for Catholic Education, a Service Teaching Program that placed me at an under-resourced 6-12 school in Dallas, Texas.

I am hoping to start law school next fall. Before I lose another three years of my life to academia, I hope to spend the time I have now to help students get the grades and marks they need to reach the schools of their dreams. I've been on the "treadmill" and I know how brutal the educational arena can be. Thus, I find great satisfaction in being able to help people who were in similar situations as myself. I have extensive experience in tutoring from two previous positions in which I taught in both a classroom setting and a one-on-one setting. Regarding the subjects I have taught- I am familiar with math all the way up to Algebra 2 (including SAT Math), I have helped many students prepare for the SAT and ACT, I am very familiar with the LSAT, and I can assist students with Literature and Writing as well. In my experience with tutoring, I have found that students can often learn best when the instruction is tailored to their needs. Each student has unique strengths and weaknesses, and I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to play on those strengths and weaknesses in order to bring out the best performance from the student. Although law is still my passion, I've found that I truly enjoy teaching; the friendships I've developed and the lessons I've learned are invaluable, and within this next year, I hope to help as many students as possible. Outside of teaching, I like watching a good UFC fight now and then, and I am shamelessly addicted to the NBA and all its glory. I have an insatiable appetite for good music, films, art, and of course, food, and I love experiencing and learning about different cultures, religions, and views. Lastly, I think the cheeseburger is the greatest invention man has ever made, and I am forever in pursuit of the best burger in L.A.

I am a great tutor because not only are my fundamental verbal and quantitative skills strong, but I am able to communicate my reasoning and problem solving skills quickly and clearly.

I am able to tutor on a variety of subjects, but I'm especially passionate about test prep! I'm currently traveling around Europe and South America, before I start law school at the University of Texas this fall.

I'm currently working towards a J.D. at Columbia Law School. Before joining Varsity Tutors, I tutored the LSAT for a private company, both as a classroom teacher and in one-on-one tutorials. Building off that experience, I will be working for Varsity Tutors, helping people prepare for the LSAT as well as the SAT and the ACT. I have really enjoyed my experience assisting students in test preparation. In my experience, students first approach tests in an ad hoc fashion, and often with a fair bit of trepidation and hesitancy. I find it tremendously satisfying to help students conquer those initial hurdles and gain a feeling of mastery and confidence. I am patient, and I encourage my students to be patient as well. I also help students faceand in so doing, conquertheir fear of failure. We practice not fearing mistakes, but seeing them as opportunities to learn, hone skills, and grow more confident. One of my strongest attributes as a tutor is my ability to break down complex ideas into clear and accessible language. There is nothing more gratifying than working through a difficult concept with a student and know they truly understand it and can put it into practice. In my free time I enjoy reading. Some of my favorite authors are George R. R. Martin (the author A Game of Thrones) and Junot Diaz. I also enjoy spending time with friends, often playing competitive board games, such as The Settlers of Catan.

I'm Emma. I'm a 2016 Northwestern University graduate currently working as an ESL classroom teacher. I'm a tutor because I love working individually with students, helping them understand material and grow more confident as learners! I majored in History and French at Northwestern and have worked for over a year as a classroom and private English teacher. I am qualified to teach English as a second language, French language, and all levels of academic writing. I'm also a \*huge\* standardized test geek--I'm here to help you prepare for tests like the SAT, LSAT, and GRE by helping you understand the logic of the test and the similarities among question types. My LSAT score puts me in the top half of one percent of all test takers--I have the skills to get you in the same range!

I am a graduate of Cornell University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Currently, I am working as an Assistant Director at a preparatory school managing and teaching students simultaneously. In the recent years at the school, I have been focusing more on the Reading portions of standardized tests but have at times assisted students in the math and science portions as well usually one-on-one. I strongly believe that every students has their own style of learning and must learn at their own pace. Although, sometimes giving them too much leeway may not always be the best solution, I am there to also provide encouragement and challenge to make the learning process enjoyable and beneficial. Apart from work, I do enjoy reading, jogging, exploring New York City, and playing the violin during my spare time.

I'm Charlie. I graduated from the University of Chicago last Spring, and I'm headed for Harvard Law School this Fall; in the interim, I'm preparing students to take the ACT and LSAT online and locally in Chicago. I've been tutoring and instructing students of all ages for more than five years now, and since I started focusing on standardized test prep specifically I've spent a lot of time and effort to become the best LSAT and ACT instructor that I can be. I'm really proud of the rigorous, student-centered pedagogical approach that I've developed, and I'd love to show it to you!

I am currently a student at Cornell University. At Cornell, I have maintained a 3.88 GPA and made the Dean's List every semester. I attended a small private high school and graduated at the top of my class with a 4.0 GPA (unweighted). My ACT Composite score was 34, and I am an AP Scholar with Honors.

I am a Gates Cambridge Scholar and recently completed my MPhil in Development Studies at the University of Cambridge. This fall, I will begin my legal education at Yale Law School. I believe that my achievement on the LSAT and in the law school application process, as well as my two years’ worth of part-time tutoring experience, have enabled me to help others successfully navigate the process of preparing for a legal education.

While there, I worked for a test prep agency helping students prepare for the SAT and the LSAT. In 2003, I moved to Richmond. I worked with the Virginia Department of Taxation for 7 years doing policy work and assisting with the legislative process. In 2011, I began working for Bryant and Stratton College, where I taught students in the Paralegal Studies program. I loved helping my students prepare for new careers. I am currently a second year law student at Harvard Law School. I am passionate about public interest law, particularly immigration and criminal defense.

I am a graduate of Harvard College, where I earned my BA, Cum Laude, in Economics and Government. I have also completed Columbia University's Certificate program in Business, and earned a Master's degree in Finance from Claremont McKenna. Currently I am working towards a JD at NYU's School of Law. Starting in college, I tutored students in economics and statistics, and also work with clients on subject test areas for the Advanced Placement exams, as well as standardized test preparation such as for the SAT I and II, GRE and LSAT. I especially enjoy helping students prepare for standardized tests because I remember how helpful a compelling guide and mentor can be during the often stressful process of testing and preparation for it. In addition to performing well on the exams themselves, I believe it is just as important for students to learn how to think calmly and confidently about these tests, so that they can help to serve students' broader educational goals. In addition to tutoring students - and being one myself - I enjoy keeping fit by boxing at the gym, reading mostly non-fiction, and rooting for favorite NCAA teams. I have had the opportunity to travel extensively abroad, and always enjoy learning about new cultures and peoples.
