I am a rising sophomore at Loyola University Chicago. I am also a pre-med student working towards a double major in biology and sociology with a concentration in health and society. I have been in the Chicago area for the past 6 years, where I attended Adlai E. Stevenson High School. I started tutoring as a peer tutor in high school, and I am able to help in subjects from elementary math and science to college level reading and writing. I also have had experience in tutoring GED classes and continue to volunteer at a local community center. I believe in helping my students first grasp a firm understanding of foundational concepts through practice. I make sure to get to know my students and their preferred learning style, so I can figure out the best way to help them meet their individual goals.

As an experienced French instructor, I think that when learning is fun, the active students learn so fast and easily. Students must engage in their learning and the instructor too must engage so that everything will become easy for both of them

My time in Basic Training, I managed to tutor a quarter of my platoon to improve their scores for a required test from a failing grade, to passing.What makes me passionate about helping students is that I always feel everybody deserves a shot. During my 10 years working in a Hosting company, I learned many skills. The one skill I found myself to be the one I became most passionate about was Coaching. It was in the last 6 years of working there that I found my passion coaching my many peers towards their success.Currently, I'm tutoring for Certified ScrumMaster and other Technical Certifications. I hold 3 Agile Certifications, myself; Professional Scrum Master I, Certified Scrum Master, and Certified Scrum Product Owner. In May of 2015 I received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. August of 2017 I received a Master of Science in Medical Science from the University of Kentucky. I currently work doing research on Gaucher Disease. I have been tutoring/teaching in some form for the last 10 years, working with children and adults of all ages. Previously I have spent 4 years as an instructional assistant/assistant band director. During this time I was afforded the opportunity to get to work one on one with many different types of students. I taught a class of 30 middle school students 6 periods of the day where I worked with them on increasing their math and reading skills. After school I would tutor grades 6 through 12 mostly in math and science. I also gave private music lessons after school. I have experience working with special needs students and have worked as a sensory motor coach for children ages 3 to 18 with development and sensory disorders. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and science but I am comfortable tutoring many different subjects. I like being able to see to help the student make connections from the subject material to their own lives. When tutoring I like to make sure the student is involved in the process. I like to ask them questions about the material and to help them draw out and visualize the solution. Every student learns differently and I feel they do better when they can personally relate to the material and find a connection to their own life. I achieved my PhD at the Universite de Geneve (Switzerland) under the supervision of prof.
