My family and I enjoy staying active with anything outdoors, reading, and researching. Learning about new subjects, and digging deeper into the subjects we know and love such as ecology, neuroscience, and developmental psychology, complement our love of nature by allowing me to explore and teach the interconnectedness of different ecosystems, neurological functions, and symbiotic developmental processes between humans and the world around us. Between paddle boarding, hiking, beach walks, and swimming, I enjoy reading academic texts, peer-reviewed articles, historical fiction, and counseling and parenting blogs. My daughter recently taught me how to read and appreciate graphic novels, so we are also developing a new hobby as a family! We have written several books together, and every year, we create more stories that discuss current global events.
