I have been teaching for seven years. I have taught 1st and 5th grade bilingual (Spanish). I love teaching and witnessing the academic and linguistic growth students achieve when good quality instruction is in place.
I like to get to know my students and build relationships with them. As I get to know them, I look for different approaches and learning strategies to help them achieve their goals.
I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in Bilingual Education. My certifications include early childhood to 6th grade all subjects and Spanish from beginner to advanced. I hold a Texas Principal Certification from Angelo State University. I was named LULAC Chapter Bilingual Teacher of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year, Campus Teacher of the Year for the 2019-2020 and Campus Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year.
In my free time, I love reading, cooking, jogging, and, most importantly spending time with my family. I am married, have two children, and a dog.
