1. I am a native Chinese speaker and a certified Chinese teacher.
In 2016, after training, examinations and interviews, I obtained the Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Confucius Institute Headquarters.
Besides that, I have earned rich experience teaching Chinese (Chinese culture, Chinese conversation, business Chinese, to name just a few) to students of different age and level through internship opportunities and volunteer projects from 2012 to now. I taught Chinese culture, Chinese conversation, business Chinese, to name just a few.
2. Proficient at both Chinese and English, I am able to perform Chinese Taught in Chinese as well as Chinese Taught in English classes.
I got a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from Hebei University of Economics and Business, China, in 2016.
During my school years, I was selected as a translator/interpreter to many international occasions. For example, I was the interpreter for Fabrice Becker, a director of Circus du Soleil during the 14th China Wuqiao International Circus Festival in 2013. From June to August in 2016, working as an interpreter for Sino-American Summer Training Project of Speech Language Pathology, I interpreted in live classes by Dr. Thomas Layton from North Caroline State University and Dr. Elizabeth Crais from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and in Autistic Workshop and Rainbow Summer Camp.
Further more, some of my translation has been published in China and USA, the latest being Translating Xi Sui Jing #2, published in Qi Journal (Volume 27 No 3 Autumn 2017) in USA.
3. I am loving, patient and enthusiastic.
Back in my college years, I was a volunteer in Manos Intercional in China for 4 years. Every weekend, together with other volunteers, I traveled to remote areas in Hebei province to provide cultural education projects to children and organize entertainment events for holidays and new year. I have been a homework tutor at Lafayette Public Library, helping students from 3rd through 9th grade in a variety of subjects. For the time being, I am also teaching adult immigrants English at Intercambio.
