What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy of teaching is to create an environment that allows us to set expectations, identify opportunities, and follow a realistic and motivational curriculum plan. For me, the best way to accomplish these goals is through one-on-one teaching that will focus on the activity of your needs. We will use vocabulary, articles, interesting videos, etc., that will support us to achieve the learning goals. Taking advantage of today's technology will be very important, and these useful tools will help us engage in dynamic learning experiences. Finally, practice, enthusiasm, communication, and accessibility will be part of this process.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
For the first session, my goal will be to get to know the student's needs and expectations. Based on a pre-meeting questionnaire, we will determine the student base knowledge and design a study plan together. At the same time, the student will be able to clarify any question/recommendation. The goal is to start practicing right away and deep dive in the learning experience.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Motivation through practice exercises, videos, pictures, vocabulary, movies, books, and, of course, identifying student level and needs.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
The connection between the student and I is very important. I need to understand the student's goals and design a realistic learning plan. I will offer varied learning experiences (books, newspaper articles, pictures, music, etc.).
