We completed the study guide for the math test tomorrow. We did practice in ratios, fractions, word problems, conversions, and percentages. The student did a fantastic job with most of the material. I can definitely see improvement. We also practiced for upcoming quizzes in science and geography, both of which he did very well in.

We did a comprehensive review of the topics that will be included on the student's unit exam tomorrow. Essentially we reviewed the topics we have been doing for the past few weeks and I created a quiz for her at the end.

The student and I reviewed her newest chapter before her quiz the next day. There were more proofs and properties of angles, etc. She has the concepts down pretty well. It helps when she knows how many steps each proof needs.

The student did really well today. There was a big improvement with graphing absolute value inequalities. After we finished going over her homework on this concept, in which she was mostly independent, we reviewed an old quiz she had on a variety of different types of functions and function transformations. Overall, the session was big success.

Tutoring review by Andrea in Petersburg, VA
Today was a wonderful beginning to tackling the GRE! The student is a bright, interested student who very quickly picked up some of the weird details that make the GRE difficult. We mostly stuck to the 'larger picture' of the GRE for today- when to take it, how much studying is needed, and what are common pitfalls. She soaked it all up, and tackled some really difficult verbal problems with no issues! We covered a few types of problems- from oddball figures in the QC section, to three-blanks for the verbal section. Her vocabulary and process of elimination skills will definitely come in handy. Until we meet next- she will take a full diagnostic GRE on her own. I look forward to being able to more clearly define any issues that we are facing and hitting any time-issues early.
