We covered classification systems of bacteria and viruses. The student was having a hard time putting all the information together since the material was self taught. We were able to organize the material better so that it would be easier to understand. The student has been doing well on his previous exams!

Tutoring review by Liban in Fort Morgan, CO
We went over simplifying algebraic expressions. His biggest concern was how to implement FOIL methods. I gave him a visual device that would make the process a lot easier. I also gave him some tricks when it came to combining like terms and operations with signed numbers. We first did some examples together before I had him attempt the problems from his homework. When he finished, I had him do some extra problems to show mastery of the topics reviewed. We ended the session going over his notebooks and making sure he was keeping up with his organization.

Tutoring review by Lindsey in Fort Morgan, CO
The student had some trouble with truth tables and Venn diagrams, so we focused mainly on those areas. She has a test tomorrow and I asked her, if it was possible, to correct it before we meet next. She always has a positive attitude and is very upbeat. I feel that she should make a good score on her test tomorrow due to her hard work.

Tutoring review by Julian in Fort Morgan, CO
Today the student and I met to reinforce mathematical concepts, particularly the equations involved with relative abundance and converting between mass, moles, and number of atoms. We focused on the meaning of these equations and the algebra involved in solving them. He worked to finish his homework assignment, which involved these concepts, and he was able to solve all of the problems at hand. I can see the concepts clicking, and if he continues to put in the effort, he will continue to make progress. He has his first quiz tomorrow, so we will have a benchmark to see how the material is crystallizing in his mind.
