I am currently a bioengineering major at the University of Houston - Honors College. I am also working as a Research Intern at Rice University's Center for Theoretical Biological Physics. I have tutored students of various ages from different backgrounds over the past four years. I enjoy disseminating knowledge to anyone who is ready to learn!

I recently graduated from Cornell University where I majored in Environmental Engineering. Because of my acedemic background, my tutoring strenghs are in math and science. I began tutoring in high school as president of the Math Honors Society and a member of the science honors society. In college, I continued to teach peers through Cornell Outdoor Education.I believe any student can suceed in the math and sciences regardless of gender or natural ability. Through repition, visulaization, and step by step understanding, any problem can be conquered. My goal is to help each individual over the initial, reaction of "I can't do this" to "I can figure this out." I hope to cultivate confidence and understanding in your child regardless of the topics they struggle with.

I graduated Rutgers University with a B.A. in History and Education (double major) and then earned an M.A. in Social Studies Education from the state institution. I also have 30 credits in middle school literacy and ELA.I have been a classroom teacher for 24 years and have taught from 2nd grade through college. I currently teach high school social studies. I have experience in World and US History (I and II), APUSH, Sociology and Law and Society.I love showing students how interesting (and fun!) history, reading and writing can be. I have spent a majority of my life within an academic environment. Along the way I have acquired a BSBA in Finance and Marketing, a Juris Doctorate, and a Masters in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management. I have worked with several banks ranging from investment to commercial. I have studied financial compliance. I have passed the Florida Bar Examination.I believe in tailoring academia to a specific student(s) needs, strengths, weaknesses, and requirements. Each subject is different, and no two students are alike. Mastering subject matter can be accomplished in several formats, not simply the most commonly used method. A strong foundation and thorough understanding of basic concepts permits the creation of an efficient pathway to more complicated material that can be easily comprehended at each stage.I have recently stepped away from the private sector in an effort to give back to the community that gave so much to me. I volunteer regularly at various organizations. I teach yoga. Now, I have determined that reaching back to my roots in the academia and sharing the knowledge gained can make all the difference in a student's education and enrichment.

I'm currently a part time stock trader and SAT prep (math) instructor.I went to NC State for my degree in Statistics. Statistics is the science of explaining complex numbers/data into easy to understand language and I'm proud to say I refined that skill to a expert level. This has shaped the very way that I think about things in everyday life. I'm actively aware of language that might be misleading or lack specificity, which will undoubtedly benefit students learning new ideas. I particularly enjoy tutoring principals of Statistics, as its widely dismissed as "too hard".

I am currently an undergraduate student in the School of Engineering at the University of Virginia (UVA), and an alumnus of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST). I plan to major in Computer Science and minor in Economics. The very first time I got involved in tutoring was in middle school where I participated in a program called Homework Helpers. Since then, I have taken up multiple tutoring/teaching opportunities. For the past 3 years, I have been a teaching assistant at Manabadi, a Telugu school, where I help students learn to read, write, and speak Telugu. Recently, I taught a group of elementary and middle school students the basics of Java (a programming language). While I am open to tutoring a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about computer science, math, and economics. Through tutoring, and being tutored myself, I have learned that enthusiasm, patience, time management, and relatability are some of the most important qualities of a successful tutoring session. I hope to incorporate these qualities to make every tutoring session a comfortable environment to learn, ask questions, and make mistakes.

With 7+ years experience in the Marines, I have learned unique life skills and understand the nature of difficult circumstances. I am currently attending college at the University of Texas at San Antonio for Civil Engineering.Learning has not always been a walk in the park for me. Coming out of the military I had to reteach myself a lot of the skills I learned in high school; because of this, I can better relate to students who are having difficulties with course subjects. By tackling subjects with a multi faceted approach, and proper guidance, I believe any student can achieve his or her academic goals.I am especially interested in mathematics and the physical sciences and love helping those who struggle in these areas. In my off time I like to lift weights, play basketball, and read life enriching material.
