About Me

Dr. Lakin Shelpman is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who provides evidence-based, comprehensive care across the lifespan. She evaluates and treats the full spectrum of mental health conditions within a trauma-informed, patient-centered approach. Lakin earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing with specialization in PsychiatricMental Health Nursing Practice. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Beta Iota Chapter) in 2025 for her leadership and academic excellence. Through her doctoral work, she developed and evaluated an evidence-based program to promote resilience and reduce stress among caregivers affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in a rural community setting.
