About Me

As a dedicated educator with a master's degree in special education from the University of Phoenix, I have spent over forty years teaching English and history at both public schools and colleges. My extensive tutoring experience, which exceeds 2 years, has enabled me to focus on College English, Creative Writing, and American and World History, with an emphasis on developing students' reading, writing, and communication skills. I believe in creating a supportive and adaptable learning environment that meets students where they are and guides them toward those rewarding "aha" moments of understanding. My goal is to inspire confidence and foster a love for learning by highlighting the fascinating connections between language and history. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring literature and history, which continually enrich my teaching and keep me actively engaged with my subjects.
